Ramblings From a Grumpy Old Man

I have failed as a vegetarian. I spent two months of last summer eating nothing but vegetarian food. I lost forty pounds in a month and a half and had major B-12 issues. So I am back to eating meat again. Oh well. This does not mean I have surrendered vegetarian cooking. On the contrary. We still have several vegetarian meals a week. I never eat meat for lunch. My doctor assured me that I have prevented a major stroke at an early age by doing this.

This is one of the generally nicest people I have ever had the delight of meeting, despite the fact that he's an Obama supporter. My grumbles about Obama have inspired him to start his own blog, which I very highly recommend, because he so eloquently disagrees with me. OTOH I think it is a good idea for mental heath providers to include shaman and animist rituals in their care. The reason is that it gets people in the door so they can get real treatment. So it is a difficult trade off. ... read more
