My last Birthday was quite a deep hole of sorts -- not what I expected the universe to remind me of at all! I figured I would spin at the number but instead I was spun out by the peripherals and watching things collapse about me, not live up to expectation, crash and burn. The lesson was, I suppose, is that life continues regardless, unabated.

Relationships ended, cats died, many special people were sick and unable to attend the small party I threw. The worst really that happened to me was a fractured big toe. It was a salvation in that I had been plagued by a lingering malaise from some medication for a long time and was unsure as to which. Passing out and the broken toe was definitive information. But again, the center of my being stayed stolid, solid, unswayed and unwavering.

The body may fall down, fall apart and fall off to the wayside, but spirit forges on, eternally dancing through time's troubles and timelessness.
