What my friends think of me...

April 24, 2008
Birka is indeed an extraordinary individual who has warmed my heart with her own unique approach to heathenry. She is one of the very few friends I know who resonates on a similiar wavelength to that of mine. We share very similiar ideals and interests it is almost scary ;-)

about me
Heathen extraordinairre, I love to fire spin, play with ice, write music, make art, and rock climb. Oh yeah, don't forget that I knit.

I am an experimental sound artist and composer. Most of the time, I am either building a new peice of music- which involves, and is not limited to, the actual creation of instruments, original music (either the old fashioned pen and paper with notes, though most often with the creation of original computer programs), or building sculptural components for interactive audio installation. Sometimes they too, are interactive.

When I'm not devoting time to audio work and art, I do fire spinning, teach other forms of fire manipulation and play, read comics (oh, do I love comics), graphic novels, and any other form of picture + word. I love reading, and prefer works that make me think, but shy away from theoretical academic writing. I also love to cook. I love cooking and baking vegan food.

I pictured bats that flew around the baseball field, helping balls get to where they need to go, acting as baseball's totems. Special bats that fed on maple trees and loved maple syrup. Maybe a bat like me (I live on maple syr... read more

So, this post is a bit of a boast, and a bit of fear all bundled in one.

On June 1 I move to Europe for the summer. I will spend half of it in Germany, in Essen. I will also go on a smallish pilgrimage to important places to me in Germany, visit friends in Berlin, and then off to Belgium for the other half. If I can find a way to afford it, I will go to the UK for the month of August, to visit friends, go to a conference, and meet with an academic adviser/mentor.

So, all you folks ... read more

I am working with a web designer to change all of my videos to flash format, and then they will be displayed on a website I am (slowly) working. School has really slowed down that part of the process!

In any case, yes, the stuff will all be available for viewing, and soon. I am not using You Tube simply because my video's don't work too well with that high of compression- maybe I'm just being picky, but until I figure out better compression methods, I will be posting them to my website. ... read more
