I raise my glass to those we've Lost,
In calmer days, or, tempest tossed.
We'll see them still in little things
The dreams we dream, the songs we sing.
The laughing child, the widow's tear,
The memories sweet will keep them near.
And though, for now, the grave's their bed,
They are not Gone, just gone Ahead...

Moi?! Actually, one weekend each faire I bring in a mini kahlua for my coffee. (oh the shame... I'm such a lush!!)

Never been to one out of state... Anyone for a road trip??

no, but I may this year.

The weather has been prety good lately, and the weeds are going crazy! It must be time to start some seeds for the garden!!!
I got seeds for some fabulous sunflowers. Some really BIG ones (14' tall with lots of side branching) some in shades of red thru gold, some just plain single flowered giants, and some little ones. The potatoes have not yet been planted, but will be by the weekend. I have some that are red all the way thru... and some sweet potatoes that are purple inside!! Other goodies in the vegie plot will be assorted tomatoes, carrots, melons, squashes, beans, corn, etc... Hey, anyone for white carrots, yellow podded snow peas, or red celery??
Looking forward to some great eating from the backyard this year!

I want to be "Cat for a day"!!
Think about it. Royalty has it's perks, but there are still responsibilities. A cat gets to sleep in untill she wants to get up, or may be awakened to accept the adoration of her pet humans. Yeah, I want to be a cat. (with opposable thumbs so that I can handle toilet paper and not have to deal with the only part of being a cat would truely suck)

YAY!!!!!! The guy that does handywork for my dad has time and a rainy day to work on my basement!!! The entire downstairs has been on hold till that room can be built. Once that's done, the stuff that goes in there can be moved straight into position (from where it currently is taking up space on the other side of the building) My printing stuff can go into the space that it belongs in and everything else can then progress at a much better pace!!! The music room / library will be quite challenging as it presently contains a huge lot of stuff that belongs in other parts of the basement.
Oh well, off to the hardware store to pick up a few things I forgot yesterday...

Yesterday morning my mom gave up the fight and died peacefully with my brother holding one hand and me holding the other. My dad was there for her too.
I will miss her terribly!

Holloween is almost here again, time to carve some pumpkins an roast up the seeds!! I bought a pair of moderately largish punkens, one slightly taller and thinner than the other. They should frame the front entryway nicely. Now if I could just decide how I want to o up the faces...
