Sacred Fire Circle. The elemental alchemy that we co-create at
SoulFire provides you with the opportunity to co-create and maintain
an environment that encourages you to grow into your full potential.
Within the Sacred All Night Fire Circle we can push past limitations -
embody our highest visions of self expression – drum and dance to our
hearts content - give service to the collective - receive gifts of
spirit and soul from the collective -
have fun - co-create and share an ordeal - build harmony within the
self and the collective - and to greet the dawn - all in community.
The Process:
The unique and eclectic elemental approach of Sacred SoulFire invites
you to go deep into your heart as you go deep into the night. In the
afternoons, you are invited to join an Elemental Group to explore one
of the 5 topics offered. All Elemental Groups support the sacred all
night fire circle. Whether thru the expressions of drumming & music,
dancing and chanting, spoken word and visual art, or the manifestation
of harmony in our lives and in our world, the all night fire circle
and the Elemental Groups help to guide us on a mystical journey that
rhythmically re-awakens our potential.
The Commitments:
Conscious Collaborations will instigate a space where we can co-create
a rhythmic, art based, ecstatic temple of transmutation. We promise to
encourage you; to put the tools into your hands and help you learn how
to use them. We promise to show up and meet the community, where the
community is, and help make this joyful experience for all present.
Sacred SoulFire is dedicated to helping the heart of humanity heal,
One Fire At A Time. We show up with the commitment to dance with the
spirits and co-create a container where we can individually and
collectively explore Shamanism, Conscious Evolution and Sacred Fire
Circle Play. We promise to do this in a way that is inclusive, mindful
and elemental in nature.
Core Collaborators
We invite folks we know to be movers and shakers in the larger Fire
Circle Family to be involved in SSF. SoulFire's Elemental Fire Circle
Tech, is open and inclusive. Our core collaborators are folks whom we
experience have a balanced understanding of the importance of
inspiring others to join in and help to hold the container, the
rhythm, the chant, the art, the dance, etc, etc, etc.
SSF's Core Collaborators are old friends and facilitators who inspire
new found friends to step up and follow their hearts in ways that are
supportive of the collective (and the individuals in the collective).
We do all we can to build and maintain a safe and sacred zone at the
fire circle, and we trust our Comm(on)\Unity to be responsible. We

Orien told me I was "collecting data." I suppose he's right. I have been prancing across the nation, deconstruction old patterns, intentionally, shamanically throwing myself in uncpmfortable situations. I have had a few realizations, a few break downs, and many moments of joy. Most of my joyous moments happened when I came home again.
Coming home was something I was petrifyed of doing when I left. I went as far as to break the curse of "returning to the Shawangunk mountains" by throwing not just a stone into the Wallkill River, but a boulder (aided by my old housemate Justin and a few glasses of beer). Results: I still returned. Why? Because this is my home and I had to leave to realize just how proud I am to be here, among the people I love, the mountains that, no matter how many times I climb them, still seem to take my breath away.
I recognized my strengths and weaknesses when it comes to realtionships, to other people, to myself, to lovers, to partners, to my environment.
Imani told me I had a lesson in realizing just how healthy I am.
Jacob said to me: "I suspect that is what you do, hop around touching things, pouring your light into them."
At least that's what I try to put out there...helping people recognize their beauty within. Only this time I am doing it with grace and caution. I will not let go of myself in the process. Because really part of the process is for me to realize my own beauty...a beauty I allowed others to cloud, shadow and try and take from me.
Ghandi said: "be the change you want to see in the world." So I'm trying. I am trying by way of my everyday interactions with people. There is a war OUT THERE. Where we CAN't see it. AND there is a war IN HERE. Inside ourselves that we choose to ignore.
Pete said he wanted to do something huge and change the world.
The way we heal is through our connection with each other. The way we cahnge the world is in our everyday reactions and interactions with each other and our environment. We have choices. We can choose to treat each other with love, honesty and respect, or we can choose to speak violently, harshly, lying about what is true for ourselves. The way of violence will perpetuate the war inside us and overseas...and on our streets...
Ani said: "The world owes me nothing, we owe each other the world." I am dedicated to reminding and reflecting to people their beauty and talents, and truth and their essence. We are all artists...it's finding our medium that sometimes takes a bit too long. Therein lies the struggle.
Tori Amos said "Diversity Creates Wholeness." And this is what I learned on the road.
And this is why I am creating this page: to honor the people in my life who have shown me parts of myself I didnt know existed...the dark and the light. And this page is also dediacted to the parts of myself that sometimes go overlooked and overshadowed.

I have flown back east for a short period of time, to be with family and friends...i always feel cradled in the arms of the valley, as if goddess herself is rocking and singing to me... i am learning to live moment to moment, one day at a time, and simply trust that spirit will guide me where I need to be. Yoga taught me to be flexible, not only in the physical sense, but also in the mental/emotional sense. I have been given the opportunity to look at money in a new light as well, and am now able to make right some things that went wrong last winter. I am looking forward to clearing the air and gaining back personal integrity. December will bring more traveling, this time acoss the southern part of our nation. I have gypsy in my blood and am honoring her. I feel like for the first time in my life I am just being. and it feels great. I finally get it, SHADY! HAhahahhahaahaaaaaa......

Blackbyrd, you are awesome. I can't even begin to tell you what a super fun time hanging out with you last weekend and I've carried so much of the experience home with me. I'm missing the energy (and the trees) already. Blessings in everything you do.

if a homemade cherry pie right out of the oven could sing like an angel and play piano like a mudder fugger, then you'd have to call it BlackByrd!

A powerful force of light in the world, she has shared with me the responsibility of knowing our true nature and the duty we have toward one another to express our unity of purpose and being.

when BlackByrd's Singing in the dead of night, she gives comfort to the moon and stars and sends such sweet dreams to the sleeping sun that it finds motivation to rise in the morning.
she's hip, fun, funky, funny... a bright woman able to stand strong in her convictions and also expose her tender and vulnerable heart in song and in friendship.
although she refuses to try a SPAM and tequila cocktail, she can still be an altered girl in Pope Shady's congregation any day.
she's a gem and she's brought many smiles to my face in the short time i've known her. spirit willin' and the creek don't rise, i look forward to many more years of smiles.
