Exhausting Vasanas
Dream Job
Wed, April 2, 2008 - 8:12 AMI just received pictures from Sunday's show. We opened for the Brooklyn Philharmonic. It was incredible.
In the picture: Umut, Scott, Carmine and Marissa. They played beautifully.
I was able to enjoy the last piece by the Philharmonic, which was incredibly haunting and dreamy, with wonderful storytelling.
At some point the announcer mentioned the "Secret word of the day: 'Blanca', after the bellydancer you just saw" :)
Thank you Carmine and Marissa for the opportunity to present Middle Eastern dance in such venerable setting.

So glad you "get it" about the Brooklyn Museum!
I'm one of those people who grew up in Brooklyn and never lost my affecection for the "borough of bars & churches." I hold certain places in the highest esteem: the Brooklyn Bridge, BAM, the arch at Grand Army Plaza, Prospect Park, the cherry esplenade at the Botanic Gardens and, just a few steps away, the Brooklyn Museum. It makes me feel so warm & fuzzy to know that you understand how special "my" museum is...and I'm so happy you were able to experience it in such an awesome way! Ah, Blanca...you so deserve to dance there! xoxox
