One of the first conversations I ever had with Brian, he was telling me about the concept of secrets. People keeping them from each other, people telling them, finally, or even just alluding to them. He warned me with wisdom. He rejected certain ideals of mine, because he knew (knows) better.
So this space, this one I am creating right here, is for Brian. Its for his secrets.
In addition to that, I also want to thank him for coming to my work on November 17, 2005, and hugging me when I needed it more than any other time in the world. Thank you, Brian.

All hail the fearless leader of the Gothscouts! Brian never ceases to amaze me with his selfless hard work for what is possibly THE most underappreciated organization alive today. For hours and hours he toils each day so that each and every girl (and boy in eyeliner) can achieve their fullest goth potential. I first saw him bring a packed multi-purpose room to tears with his famous “Boy’s Really Do Cry” speech at last year’s summit and leader retreat in Boise... I knew right away that this man would a Star!

I don't know him. But he saved my chair. It's like parking. If someone saves your chair, you owe them a blood oath.
So basically, I'm fucked. Cuz he could cash that in annnnyyyy time.
Who knows? Gasp! Maybe I'll have to save him a chair!!

In case you haven't already heard about this through one of my other PR outlets:
Earlier this year I started work on the score of an original solo
opera. I'm happy to say that I'll be performing an excerpt of it this weekend
at the Traveling Jewish Theater in San Francisco. My piece will go up along
with two dance/theater pieces written by the incredibly talented Jade Raybin and
Pear Marill. It's going to be a really fun night of theater. And there will be
cookies!
We recommend buying tickets in advance, as there aren't that many available seats...
Yumble:
Theater, Dance, Opera, Cookies
A trio of new works from Brian M Rosen, Jade Raybin, and Pearl Marril
Thursday, May 22 - Sunday May 25 at 8:00pm
Traveling Jewish Theater
470 Florida Street
San Francisco, CA
$17 (save $2 if you bring cookies to share)

The Richter Scales won a Webby for our video "Here Come's Another Bubble"! It was selected as the viral video of the year, beating out some real impressive competition. Congrats to Matt Hempey for writing the lyrics and putting the video together.
We'll be performing it live in Palo Alto this Thursday. It's a free concert with another a cappella group (RedShift), so you should all come...

The Richter Scales video "Here Comes Another Bubble" was nominated for comedy video of the year by Yahoo Video! This is a huge deal for us and our very own Matt Hempey, the creator. So click and vote!

The Richter Scales are performing at the Harmony Sweeps this year. We're up against the best a cappella groups in the area. We've got 10 minutes to show our best stuff, and we're performing three original songs (I wrote two of them). Tickets are selling briskly, so pick up a pair and cheer us on.

What a strange day. The LA Times printed a story about the Richter Scales, KPIX news just finished interviewing me for a story about viral videos that will air tonight on the 6 pm news, and Michelle is being featured on public radio for a piece about her work at Animation Mentor.
We're everywhere!
14 minutes and counting.
