Boggards Signs Stolen
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 1:08 PMAt some point between closing on Saturday and opening on Sunday, someone stole most of the signs that the Boggards use for our show.
They took:
A one sided "Parental Advisory: We Say Fuck" sign, approx. 3'x2', design similar to "parental advisory" stickers.
A series of smaller, approx. 2'x1.5' signs, reading "Crap", "Damn", "Shit", "Cock", "Pussy (Meow)" and two signs reading "Bitch".
We're currently willing to believe that this was just a drunken idiocy. It happens. I woke up with a stop sign next to my bed one morning.
I'm personally requesting word be put out that we just want them back. If they're back at the Reef before our first set on Saturday, nothing further needs to be said. Stupid crap happens, life moves on.
If they are not returned, after Saturday at 11 AM I'd request everyone please keep an eye out for the signs and if they are spotted, report the thief to anyone not otherwise busy with a radio. We've filed a report on this with REC, they'll be able to get them back to us.
Please, spread the word.

I'm sorry to hear about that. Silly pranks are one thing, but hijacking show props are another. I hope you guys get them back soon. Good luck.

not sure
they may be by one of the gaming booths. we saw some signs on the booth Sunday morning just before opening, and just moved them out of the way. I'm not sure if they are the same signs or not, didn't really look at them (from what I saw, white with black words painted on them), but if they are, I'll let you know and take them over to rogues reef next saturday. probably just someone forgot they set them there and forgot, or something. idk.

Honestly, at this point it's more that this was an irritating annoyance - we swapped out our opening song for one set, and between shows Stork whipped up a few "replacements". We'll probably make a backup set just in case the originals don't show up.
We, of ALL people, understand the "Holy crap, I did WHAT last night?" reaction. We're not here to censure, we just want our toys back. |

I think the sign on top said crap, of course my memory could be incorrect lol. but it was just a stack of wooden signs sitting on something on the booth. we were all a little distracted, but I'm pretty sure they're the same ones. like I said, looks like someone set them there and just forgot. didn't try to hide them or anything. wow lots of stuff went missing this weekend. If they are the same signs I'll be sure to drop them off over there before opening on saturday. if I don't bring them over, assume they're not the same signs lol.

prank or no prank...stealing is stealing. Someone thinks it's funny but that's because they don't have to pay to buy the materials to replace them. I hate this stupid thoughtless shit! It pisses me off!
