about me
I'm fascinated and absorb all sorts of culture - youth, pop, generational - you can most definitely find me at the sociology section at any given bookstore. I prefer non-fiction to fiction and I actually read Wikipedia for fun. I love to research and explore the world around me and can often be seen with my camera on any given weekend. As a native New Yorker, I really have a great love for all the neighborhoods that make up this city.
So, I haven't been much of a moderator lately on my Street Photography tribe (I know....), but I have been totally crazy busy the past month or so.
Just started working on my Masters in Educational Leadership and adjusting to school again is quite the transition - especially since it's been 10 years since I graduated with my Bachelors.

So, I'm reading the NY Times this morning as I also do on Sunday mornings....ANYWAY I came across this article about a billboard posted in the Hasidic section of Williamsburg that was vandalized because it was not "proper" enough. It was originally a picture of a boy whose religion was not determined (oh no! could he be goy!!!!) that looked pretty clean cut, but he was deemed too secular for the Satmars who vandalized the picture. The billboard is to get people to donate their cars for charit...

Last weekend I was in Central Florida visiting Marc’s mom, and I must say it’s a whole other world from being here in NYC. She lives in Belleview, which is just south of Ocala and it is chock full of churches, crazy billboards (“God Give Me A Sign”), trailer parks, and “active adult lifestyle” communities. It was a little bizarre.
