Today of all dayze!

So today, it was humid, hot as hell with hot breeze blowing with great tenacity through Oakville. The minute you stepped outside you began to perspire. I think I turned three shades darker from just the drive home. But today was an experience in nature at Mondavi.

Over the past couple of weeks a bird has been nesting in a planter outside of the gift shop.
The Gardner had let the birdie stay and nest, and over the weekend she had hatched four hungry chirping mouths.
My weekend goes by and come back to work, her nest is empty. I worry.
Did they get eaten, did they fly away? what?!?
Linda said there was a dead baby in front of the planter. Damn.

On the way to lunch there is a small bird standing on the concrete walkway chirping. eeep. eeep.
I get closet and its one of the babies.
I follow it and heard it towards another planter. My co-worker Anton comes out and scoops the bird up with words about Mothers abandoning their young after its been "touched" by a human being a total farce.

So up goes the bird and once its in the safety of the planter, on which grows a large olive tree and some leafy ground coverage shrubby.

Immediately, four swallows begin swooping down and feeding the baby. They were always near by. When I left in the afternoon, s/he was hiding in the shrubs. I hope she makes it through the night.

On the way out there was a snake. I caught it him/her and held her by the head and walked over to the rose garden across the building and released.

So I hope the baby lives.

Ah Nature :)

Of Old Cars, Campers and Concerts

So one reason I like my old car is that it has a tape deck. So no one is gonna jack my car for my stereo (hopefully) and music is like 1 to 2 bucks a pop because cassettes are so out of date.

So yesterday i needed a little "me" time, I had Fleetwood Mac stuck in my head and I stopped off at Rasputen to see if I could find anything on tape. I didn't.

But I *did* find Camper Van Beethoven! Remember those guys? I was like "Oh Wow Man!"

So I'm driving home grooving to Camper Van Beethoven...thinking about Go-Go Bordello....

Out of curiosity I check the internet and Camper Van Beethoven has just reunited and they are playing the Fillmore June 28th!

Its their 25th anniversary tour!! And they covered the entire Fleetwood Mac Tusk Album!

What a weird bit of weirdness....

Anyone wanna go ?

Question of the moment...

Yesterday were really busy at work and this co-worker guy sez: "I dont give a rats ass." about ....(white noise)

I constantly fight the urge to be a smart-ass at work....but my filter is kinda broken (Thanks Ren Faire!!)

SOOOoooo on this occasion I lost and to this I assent...

Me: "So when DO you give a rats ass? Like, When is it actually an appropriate gift?"

He: "Im not even going there"

He never do...and I remember most people in the "real world" are incapable of play. (Friends in my life I LOVE YOU)

So.....sorry to be asinine...but where in the world did this expression come from...where is it appropriate to give a Rats Ass and an offense or mark of apathy for one not to produce said gift?

Huh??!!?!?!

What color is your Earwax?

So me N Christina are watching this science program last night and we learned there are two different kinds of earwax, um genetically speaking.

The show stated that Africans and Caucasians have orange-ish earwax that has the consistency of a thick ointment.

Asians and Indians from the Americas have a lighter brown powdery consistency.

Both me n 'C have the powdery kind. Which is interesting cuz were both mixed...

No mention of the Polynesian races.
No mention of something in between concerning those of mixed races.

Interesting schtuff.
