about me
In 1998, after playing in punk bands for about 6 years, I was introduced to different parties/clubs in Los Angeles. After hearing a well known UK DJ spinning Jungle on a proper sound system, I was instantly hooked and intrigued. Jungle was fast like punk, had heavy basslines like reggae along with a hip-hop sensibility.
After seeking out clubs and events which included jungle, I met some friends from San Diego at a party who‘d been going out for several years. They shared similar but diverse tastes in music and told me to come down from LA and chill at their pad sometime. I brought down some vinyl because they had turntables and next thing I knew I was blending Bitches Brew and the Star Wars soundtrack with Hip-Hop and House. I made a few different mixtapes and gave them out when playing different clubs, house parties, and outdoor parties in the San Diego and Los Angeles area. In the meantime, I was attending Drum&Bass clubs like Science, Konkrete Jungle, Respect, and Databass. After 2002, I only played some radio shows and one-offs and started collecting more soulful/dubby Drum&Bass. In the beginning of 2005, I finished building my new computer/studio and started learning about sound and production. I began having fun with the music again while playing house at different events and collecting more disco, old school hip-hop, and 80’s. Presently, I’ve been playing house at a monthly called Open House in San Diego @ Kadan. By January 2006, I’ll have more house and drum&bass mixes up on waxdj.com, so stay tuned. Hit me up at apeek1976@yahoo.com and say hey. Peace, Aaron Go to: waxdj.com/boyinthabubble to check my house mix from summer "Where You Wanna Go Tonight?" New drum&bass and house mixes coming soon...............

You see them everywhere. They're now in car commercials, every slacker wants to be one, but do you really know anything about DJs? One of LA's finest, DJ Wolfie, gives the inside juice. 7. It's a DJ Booth. Not a place to rest your drink. I mean, come on! The turntables are 500 bucks a pop, that mixer costs a grand. The amplifier is about $1,100 bucks, and you're casually going to set your pina colada on the table? In front of 500 dancer... read more

When requesting a song from the DJ, just say "play my song", or "it goes something like this" then hum a few bars! We have a chip implanted in our heads with an unlimited database with the favorite tunes of every patron who ever walked into a bar & all songs ever recorded, so feel free to be vague, we love the challenge. If we do not remember exactly what tune you want, we're only kidding. DJs know every song ever recorded, so keep humming. Hum harder ... read more
