about me
I'm a recent transplant to the Charleston, SC area from Washington D.C., and I'm now trying to find my way and build a network of down-to-earth, fun, intelligent, creative friends. I'm a freelance artist, and I do lots of varied things to that end: I design custom tattoos, as well as flash. (...Specializing in paleolithic art and that of ancient cultures like Roman and Greek, as well as the more popular celtic, tribal, and black-and-grey stuff.) I also do custom leather-tooling jobs, sew garb and costumes and clothes, weave, and whatever else people ask me to do. Every once in a while I use my college degree by designing exhibits and displays. When I'm not working directly for myself, I'm in teh wilds of West Virginia helping out Dancing Pig Pottery by handling as many aspects of the glazing operation as I can (formulation, application, swearing). I recently helped create the "Ceilidh" line of pots for them; check it out at www.dancingpig.com.
I'm also getting back into performing after several years away, which is tricky but satisfying, like putting on an old skin after a few years out of it; it doesn't quite fit like it used to, but you're sure after wearing it for a little while it'll stretch to fit who you've become. I get up to a lot of stuff in my life. Keep up with it at www.mydwynterstudios.com!

...Or "press-ups", or whatever you want to call them. Peer pressure is sometimes good, so I'm going to start doing the "100 Pushups Challenge" thing that's been going around. Back at university I used to drop and do 40 or 50 several times a day to work off excess energy, and I'll looking forward to feeling that strong again. Might not have that far to go, actually, which surprises me. Overall, this is a good, I think.

I'm in a sort of bizarre idea-overload, which is being combined by a severe attack of "neither food nor sleep are my friends right now". It's a bit worrying, which in itself doesn't really help teh sleeping. But! I've stuck the tribe window in with my permanantly-open tabs, and I have lots of time to work on things, and I'm slowly meeting new people down here in SC, which help. And Teh Boy is useful too, being the kind who really wants to soothe everything that ails me. So we'll see.
