Can you recommend a travel agent? And: who has been to Iceland?

i've been obsessed with the idea of traveling to Iceland &
it's going to happen this year.
who has been to Iceland? tell me stories!
give me advise!
also, who can recommend a travel agent?
i want to visit my family during the same trip,
so this will be a multi-destination affair & i realize
i do not have the patience to do the flight searching/booking myself.
i just want to go to Iceland :-)

i can say the following about iceland:
hotel rooms are really small. REALLY small. the fish is amazing. there are sculpture gardens everywhere. HUGE hot springs, but more like olympic sized swimming pools steaming, and everyone's stewing in them in the dead of winter. the airport dons some really beautiful stained glass. i hope you report back after you go! |

I went to Iceland in 98
It was overcast and windy. And I did see Bjork (at the airport). I also saw Volcanos, waterfalls, killer whales, glaciers and the Blue Lagoon.
It was expensive, and the people were nice but not overtly friendly. I would recommend going for the midnight sun in June. Apparently it is drunken 15yos raving in the street for a week. |
