I hope that no one has to have the experience of being told their child is sick. Hardest thing ever! We are so relieved and lucky!
For those who haven't heard, Corwin was diagnosed Friday with a rare blood disease called ITP or immune thrombocytopenic purpura. It is classified as an autoimmune disease. In most children, it resolves itself in 3-6 months, but in some cases, it becomes chronic. You can learn more about it here

www.itppeople.com/aboutitp.htm He had that weird rash, which the Dr. said was related to a virus he had that caused the fever and blood in his diarrhea, but then on Thursday, he started bruising and we knew something else was up. He seems to be feeling fine, but has started getting some pretty nasty bruises. He his blood platelet count was 13,000 (less than 20,000 is at a risk for bleeding on the brain--normal is 150,000 to 400,000) so we have to keep him pretty much tied to the boob so he doesn't bump his head!! Glad I didn't wean him yet!! I certainly don't mean to alarm anyone, but just wanted you all to know what was up and hopefully keep us in your thoughts......we go to the hematologist/oncologist tomorrow at Children's Hospital....here's hoping for lots of platelets and that this is short lived for us all! Thanks, B-
Macknac Island.....our home away from home (in the summertime). We are so lucky to have a place to stay on this beautiful island with no cars. Biking, eating, swimming, watching the sun set every evening over the lake, horses, fudge, chilly nights, breeze off of the lake, hikes, butterflies, bats, seagulls and so much more. Ahhh, until next year!

The kids had so much fun in the Burley together and did great on the car ride too. It was a great bonding time for our family! I can't believe how big they are! They can wear some of the same clothes even! Both sassy as can be, they are why I get out of bed every morning.....much too early though!!
