The drummer formerly known as Angus. I am a percussionist who playes Middle Eastern Music, Rock/Jazz fusion, and West African drums. I have a degree in Elementary Education, and am currently teaching 5th grade at a new, arts-focused charter school. I have a band called Kara Nomadica based in northern Colorado. We play original Mid-eastern style music with an edge of fusion, along with some traditional Arabic and Turkish songs.

21 years and 9 months ago, at the tender age of 17, I began my first semester at an institute of higher learning. Last Friday I was finally graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science - Elementary Education degree. Just so you all don't think I'm the worlds greatest moron, I will state that I DID NOT spend the entire 21 years and 9 months working towards my degree... there were HUGE gaps where I eeked out an existe... read more

3 1/2 cups cooked drained chickpeas (5 cans makes 2 batches) 3-4 cloves garlic (or 3 tsp crushed garlic)(roasted garlic is also very good) 1/4 cup lemon juice 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil 1/2 cup plain yogurt (my secret ingredient!) 3/4 cup tahini 2 tsp ground cumin (or a bit more to taste) 2 tsp salt Puree all ingredients in food processor. I just found my way onto tribes through my most excellent friend Billy Woods. Many of you know me as Brett, some as Angus, and still others as Sadiq. To sort out the confusion....Brett is my given name.
