Not At Work...

I have never really been one to try out fad diets or other sorts of healing type things but about a month ago I was just feeling really dumpy. A friend had mentioned that she was going to do this wierd "Master Cleanse" thing, which sounded kinda suspect. So what I did was look it up on line and I started reading about what this thing is and what it does to you. The people who had tried it out raved about how this cleanse cleared their minds and bodies and it sounded like the things that it... read more

At 6:56pm on 11/22/07, Korin gave birth to our first child, and as we had been previously informed, it's (still) a girl! She weighs 6 lbs 10 oz and is 19.5 in. long. At this point, she has just turned a day old. So far, she has already learned to breastfeed and had her first doctor's appointment. So far so good! Korin is in the process of recovering - we decided to take the risk averse route and go with the c-section as there was a risk of bleeding that we knew about coming in. What we ... read more

People I Paid to Say Something Nice

Working with Brian totally and utterly rocks! This also means that Brian is exceptionally patient.

If you ever need someone to drink you under the table, Brian is your man. His mid-western genes are strangely unaffected by mass quantities of alcohol... if you don't believe me, invite him to drink with you!

The hardest-working man in Code Business. He works so hard he sometimes breaks out in a sweat and collapses on the floor. Usually, Mark comes out and drapes a towel over his shoulders, ushering him to a place where he can lie down and take a break. Brian initially accepts Mark's kindness, but then he stands up, throws off the towel, and runs back to his workstation. It's really inspiring.

Brian is our son, and we are very happy with what he has become. But, why do you think a midwest boy would want to move to California? Come to think of it, it has worked out pretty well so far. We have seen the San Francisco sights, Carmel, seventeen mile drive, the wine country several times, and Yosemite. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Brian; Who is he? Inventor? Engineer? Social Construction Set Builder?
Pattern Language Expert? Knowledge Cluster Backbone Creator? There are some more Proper Noun sets I can use to describe him but first.
1. We like Functional Collaborative Knowledge Networks.
2. Visualizing Data Remotely in Real-Time with Groups of People is Cool.
3. Being able to Connect and Communicate within a Framework like TRIBE.NET is a working piece of the puzzle.

Thanks Brian;

I have learned a lot from Brian over the years, but none so far have been as funny as learning that you can build a bong out of an ant farm.
