Last Thursday, I finally hired a very expensive lawyer. I put down the $2000 I have raised so far (thanks in part to many of you!) , and my dad and mom split the other $3000 (which i must pay back ASAP) for the initial deposit. This lawyer could end up costing up to $15,000 if we go to trial. Insane, I know, but it took a long time to come to the decision to hire him, and I'm finally confident I made the right decision.

I tried my luck with 2 public defenders, unsuccessfully. The last one I had actually admitted he thought I should hire a big shot. So, I finally did it, after much pondering. (I almost decided to give in to the bastards and do 30 days, lose my job, and keep a class A felony on my record for 10 years!) I was very sad that day and gave up a little; just wanting to get it all over with.

Thankfully, the light shone down on me and I realized I can't give up on everything i've worked so hard for... so I'm putting myself into a $30-40,000 debt, but hopefully in the end it will be worth it. I had to try!!!
