donald rumsfeld briefed the president this morning. he told bush that 3 brazilian solders were killed in iraq. to everyone's amazement, all the color drained from bush's face, then he collapsed onto his desk, head in hands, visibly shaken, almost in tears. finally, he composed himself and asked rumsfeld, "just exactly how many is a brazilian?"

"i just want to take this opportunity to say, you people are insanely talented" it seemed kinda classy for her to present. since not only was her performance not nominated, it was a critical nightmare. but that remark... am i reading too much into this? was it disparagement? self-loathing? an invitation to a pity party? or simply none of the above?

i've only just tuned in to "american idol" lately and i have to say it's quite well done. anyone even remotely interested in the art of vocalization should enjoy this show. without stating the unnecessary, this show has a well-informed, well-rounded panel of judges. of course, i realize i'm coming late to the table with this critique, but does anyone else have any thoughts? 
so, go with me on this one, just a thought i had after too much mcdonald's this afternoon...

how did i miss this one when it was released? i somehow blew it off as a goofy adam sandler movie. far from it. also, i failed to notice that james brooks was involved. beautiful work by both cloris leachman and adam sandler. and a painfully drawn character from téa leoni. this is now the 4th sandler movie that i'd recommend. never saw that coming.

er, uh, so i donated $19.71 to this interesting film company (i was born in 1971, so what the heck). they're putting everyone who donates as a producer on the imdb. (i was already in the imdb for a space geek t.v. show called, ahem, babyon 5) by the way, i've also noticed tommy, scott, & bill ware on imdb... cool!
