I hope you are well. Things are well for me. I am currently in North Carolina, settling in to the culturally rich area known as "The Triangle" which encompasses the cities of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. I am continuing to spend good quality time with my son. He is now an excellent bike rider and learning how to read! I am also creating time for writing, reading, exercise and yoga, answering your emails, music, walking through the woods, contemplating the evening stars, and saying my nightly prayers for bringing more love and presence in to the world like a good boy. Here is a more in depth look at what's currently happening creatively and professionally: 1) I am very happy to formally announce I am organizing the first Conscious Convergence. A gathering of teachers, healers, artists, and entrepreneurs in Santa Cruz County, CA, on Mar. 14-17, 08. This relaxed, rejuvenating, creative and transformative retreat will have space available for about 20 participants from around the country, including myself. I look forward to seeing you there. Stay tuned to my website for more information and registration details in the next few weeks. 2) With the intention of being more interactive, I have started a great new weekly feature on my blog called "Wisdom Wednesdays". It's popularity is growing. We are now entering Week 4. Tune in and join in the conversation! 3) My Myspace page, in general, is also becoming increasingly popular with now over 2,000 friends and several hundred hits a day. We call ourselves "Glow Worms" (bringing more light to the world) and do all sorts of strange, wonderful things, creating a sanctuary of light, beauty, inspiration and insight on the web and have lots of fun in the process. 4) I did a great new photo shoot this month in California. New photos from that shoot will be posted there over the next couple of weeks. 5) I am touched and most proud of what's been happening with my life coaching, it's holistic approach, and the transformations that are taking place with my clients. June, 29: Summer Newsletter Greetings, I hope you are enjoying the beginning of Summer. I am currently on the East Coast spending a lot of time quality time with my son, teaching him how to ride his bicycle (I really wish he would stay on the right side!), exercising, yoga, spending time with family, writing, reading, playing my guitar, disappearing into the forest and wonders of nature when I can .. Professionally, an incredibly creative period is beginning. Here is a taste of what's happening: 1- I am working on putting together something I feel is very much needed: An original, fully comprehensive spiritual teaching in a simple, straight forward modern context geared toward those immersed in modern Western culture. It's based specifically on what worked for me in my spiritual search and the path I myself have walked. It's therefore tried, tested and true! This is a simple and direct yet integral and holistic approach, with out dogma or superstition, and rooted in self-honesty, that is designed to cover every aspect of one's personal life including such important issues as relationships, sexuality, and nutrition/health among other often neglected subjects... I am currently in contact with other teachers and healers as they offer me their input and perspective on the subject. The right people are appearing at the right time. In the most important game of all, who is your coach? Life is full of many challenges and transitions, twists and turns. We have all gone through periods in life when we are feeling blocked or stuck and can't quite figure out the way to move forward. We have all also gone through periods in our lives where we wished we had an objective, experienced, compassionate person to help us navigate through our lives. Perhaps many are feelings this way right now. Welcome to the emerging field of life coaching. The purpose of a life coach is generally not to tell you what to do but to provide the space for you yourself to gain clarity on what YOU want in your life and expose the mental and psychological limitations that are consciously or unconsciously preventing you from doing so. Life Coaches generally check in with their clients weekly or bi-weekly to make sure they are taking practical steps each week in moving forward following the dreams of their own highest self. The ongoing relationship that is established can be extremely rewarding for both coach and client. It is often a journey of tremendous inner discoveries and breakthroughs that clearly manifest themselves in the practical outer world of one's life. It is important for the client to keep in mind, that your coach is there to serve you. The more honest you can be in the first session, and there after, about where you are in your life and what you hope to get out of your sessions with your coach, the better results you will see. Life Coaches generally give sessions over the phone, though some offer other methods of communications as well. There are many different kinds of Life Coaches, and each are unique in their style, personality and technique. Some specialize in particular aspects of your life such as financial, relationship, nutrition, spiritual, etc. while others may take a more wider, integrated and holistic approach. Some may have a particular focus such as gender, age group, religious or spiritual path etc. while others are more open in who they work with. Some people still feel there is an embarrassing stigma attached to seeking help from any outside figure and view it as a sign of inferiority and weakness. The alternative view is that there are few things that are more assertive and powerful than making the time and financial investment in your self and in your future to hire a life coach toward your own self-actualization. Many of the most successful people living today have life coaches, and publicly credit their success in large part to their client-coach relationship. Many of the greatest athletes in the world have had great coaches. To live a great life, it can also be useful to have a great coach.
