Wake up. Day calls you
July 22, 2007
it's hard to be objective when you’re writing about the woman who is your friend, lover, roommate, and the namesake and the object of adoration for your theme camp. isn't it enough for you to know that she's with me? unselfish to a fault, she's giving, loving, aware (most of the time), insightful, and slow to anger. did i mention that she hangs with me. oh, and she goes around poking people with swords. arrrgh pirates no ninjas.

Brigit is cool and can throw down on the dance floor. I can barely keep up. She also stabs people for fun which is another point for her in my book. =)

Brigit is one of the most unique women ive ever met. Her wit, charisma and childlike energy are only surpassed by her emotional depth and capacity to care for and love those fortunate enough to know her. She restores my faith in the belief that truly good people do walk the earth still and it makes me smile daily to know im lucky enough to be one of those in her life.

My circle--the Madrone Circle of the Santa Cruz mountains, celebrated Beltane as they have for many years now at the home of Kimba and Mike Sammet in Ben Lomond. Bellboy went with me for his first time and we both enjoyed the mellow, laid back ritual and overall vibe. Looking over these photos, I am struck over and over at how BEAUTIFUL these people are physically--and psychically.

Flunkies are totally incapable of independent thought or unsupervised actions. They cannot be left alone for more than a few minutes, for fear of hurting themselves or others. Lackeys are capable of following rudimentary instructions and marginal self-supervision for up to a day or so. The better lackeys are also capable of supervising a squad of flunkies while they break rocks into gravel, but again, only for a day or so. Min... read more
One of Bellboy's closest friends, BJ, passed away yesterday. Last night Bellboy and I lit candles in her memory and lay on the couch as he told me stories of her, and it saddens me to know that I won't be able to get to know her better. When last I spoke with her, we were preparing to leave for New Orleans the next day and she advised me to be sure I took dancing shoes.

Thank you so much for all the kind posts yesterday regarding the passing of my beloved Weeds. Last night, Bellboy drove me and Weeds up to Rhyli's house in the Santa Cruz mountains. We laid my kitty to rest on top of his favorite scratching box with his catnip toy tucked under his chin, and covered in lemon balm from Rhyli's garden. Over his grave I planted Siberian Irises so that he will always rest beneath their beautiful blooms.
