A weekend of firsts (GIG INFO)

So there are a bunch of firsts for me this week.

First:
-DJ vs DJ battle
-Djing in two countries in two nights
-CT Scan

Spring Fling this Friday at the Waldorf at 8pm I'm going head to head with Geordie. I've never done a vs. before. Knowing Geordie, it'll be nothing but fun. For us and the dancers. I think we both bought a ton of new music for it.

Spring Fling this Friday at the waldorf then at a friends house party in seattle.
Do you wanna come? you can... just email me and I'll tell you about it..... but you *have* to know that you're the shit, and are cool enough to get in! =P

And the fun one.....

So last Monday I get an ingrown nose hair... like I get from time to time. Except that this one, 4 days later, has swelled up the side of my face to the point I can't open my left eye! I go into the hospital, get my IV antibiotics.... and a CT (cat) Scan.

Seeing CT scans on TV and movies only, I had no idea what to expect, so I just laid down closed my eyes and didn't move, swallow, move my eyes or anything.
The machine fires up and I can hear the scanner rotaing around my head AND I saw a light the started as a shimmering white sheet that quickly faded to purple, blue, and back.
It was like looking at the nothern lights. But only lasted 6-10 seconds, and then it was gone.

I thought it was cooler to know that nobody else had reported seeing them before.

So that's it...

Email me about saturday. =)

OK, so I spent last weekend and Thurs. and Friday at an event.
I was on the decks every second I could be.

Thursday I played a slower progressive set while people sat around and danced and talked, played with poi and flags ( very fun )

Friday I played a set for myself and two others. Danced until the wee hours of the AM, slamming tracks over with reckless abandon, and having it beat match 50% of the time.

And when my main set came up ( Saturday night ) I rocked for about 4-5 hours.
Mind you I started running out of good tracks by the 4th hour.

I had amazing compliments for hours afterwards leading into the next day
Ranging from :
" You Bastard, my legs are killing me from dancing all night"
" You music took me to some other place" ( My personal fav.)
" You have a great mastery of bringing the energy up and down, then back up again"
" When are you playing next, because I have to be there!"
" ...Am I high or is BT on fire tonight? "
followed by " BT's on fire tonight "

Thanks to those who danced, and for the compliments....

I'm renewed with a vigor to DJ more!
It got me out of my lull. =)

I'm in sh!t.

I was installing and reformatting a hard drive on my computer, and while I was creating the partitions, I remembered the golden rule too late.

I didn't disconnect my other hard drive.
The one I haven't backed up in 4 years.
All my photo's from Dawson City, to 4-5 years of Burning man, family, friends... all that jazz.

Really important stuff, even though I'm trying to convince myself that " It's just data, it doesn't matter"

It is important to me. i have a lot of emotional attachment to it.

I know it's not gone, as all I did was delete the partion. So the data is still there.

If anybody knows a good partion recovery program, or has had to do this before, please contact me.

Dammit, I'm an ID 10T.

Thank you for any help.

So it's been a slow process, but it seems that the small thought in the back of my head has been manifesting itself the last few months.

After being asked to burn CD's for parties,
After providing a ton of music for Kamp at the burn,
After being told I have a sic(k) collection,
After thinking I need a new project.

It's come to this.

So if anyone has any advice, tips, leads on equipment:
     Please let me know.

Most, ok all, of my collection is in digital so I don't think I'll be starting to collect vinal.
Maybe I'll get a show in on my birthday, in July.

That's how I started fire spinning. So it seems apropriate.

It'll be a slow process.... but anything I'm good at has been....

Thanks for any leads/advice.

.....and not enough time, or energy.

I've been good at returning any personal email's the last few months.
Everything else..... not so much.

I just spent a half hour deleting over 17,000 unread emails from groups, lists and other boards.
I still have 11,000 left to go.

Maybe I'll need to reorganize my system? or just stay on top of house cleaning?

Oh well..... at least email dosn't clutter up my desk....

oh, wait.... it does! =)

Don't know how it happened.
But that's my licence plate.

I didn't hunt for it, I just went to the closest insurance dealer and thet handed it to me.
I did ask if they had 420 BRC, but no.
I can always photoshop something.

So the new car falls into our laps, and then this licence plate.

I think we found the art car for this year.

As it stands right now it's going to be turned into a banana-camo swedish tank; complete with underpants cannon.... maybe a fire cannon..... we'll see how dauting it would be to make.

I plan to play THE worst trance.... but only around camps that rhyme with Mushville and Carson Finland

Yet another thing that i noticed on the night of Orange.

Ways of communication. I must have experienced the gambit in one night.

Words - basic, do it everyday
Sight - Sexy Bitch and I had a conversation just by looking each other in the eyes.
Silence - Howler and I had an interaction without words.
Energy - I lent a hand in a Reiki gangbang on K8, don't know exactly what I felt or learned, but it was a real energy exchange.
Mind - I followed a thought that K8 had, and she didn't say anything I was just looking her in the eyes. More than just once.
Music - I connected with Otis (Cabana boy's bird) to the point where he'd let me scratch him after asking permission more than once

I may be forgetting one or two examples, but the previous were enough to really make me think more about the methods of information exchange.

Orange, Acid, Movies.....

I don't know why, but recently any non-sober moments I have remind me of various movies.

Waking Life, Matrix, and Final Destination seem to be the 3 main references.

Waking Life = I catch bits of friends conversations (whether they are with me, or just around me) about realizations of live or spirituality. e.g.: Day after Orange party and I listen to Nato talk about 'perfect information breeding monopolies' in my rear view mirror.

Matrix = Taking the blue pill and feeling like I'm about to have an out of body experience that shows this 'reality' as a veil. But never actually waking up in another 'reality'

Final Destination = This one scared me a bit. We were heading back home from Orange in a cab. First I noticed that my door didn't close right, so I asked the driver to slow down so i could close it; he did, but wasn't happy about it. Then he proceeded to speed towards a red light, and stop hard. Then, anticipating the green, he sped thorough the red light. HUGE red flag. Then I had a series of deja vu's and images of the cab being t-boned at an intersection. Every second the feeling became more and more intense, and the images more and more real. I felt the cab braking suddenly (which it did not), and said to Kate and Ali Bean that I had a bad feeling, and was very concerned. They asked what I was feeling and before I could say what it was I just felt, the cab driver slammed on his breaks to avoid a bicyclist. At the same time all I could say was “THIS ". I explained the deja vu and Kate had the cabbie stop at the side of the road while I feigned motion sickness, which is half true, I was feeling nauseous just from the images I had in my mind. Thankfully after pulling over the feeling subsides and we made it home safely.

It seems that my insight is developing like a muscle would develop after going to the gym. I could almost finish people’s sentences without thinking and seem to anticipate some events. This intrigues me and I'm very curious to see how it progresses.

So last Saturday, Kate, Fasty, Gia and myself are walking back from watching our performace at Light Water Drums. I look over at Tenacious G ( the RV ) and see another car parked REALLY close, so close I even ask everyone else if the car's parked too close.

It was parked too close, especially after it was tagged by a drunk driver and forced back into TG.

Gotta love bumper construction from the '80's..... the only damage to TG was a bent licence plate. Meanwhile the parked car ahead of TG sustained close to $2000 in damage.

It was a nice coincdence to have the police on scene responding to the hit and run. So I took a bunch of photo's for them.
They were even nice enough to pose when J:elly took some photo's. =)

They caught the hit and run driver..... he parked around the corner and went into 7-11. Moron.

Karmic Holding Pattern.....

That's how I described my last session of the wa-wa-wa's.

It got me thinking about little thoughts I've had after being passed a bowl. I had, and still have little epiphany’s (or epifi-mini's as I call them ).

These thought's are like deja vu's.

Fairly strong ones too.
Strong enough to the point I start to ask if I've been here before.

I've heard recently that Deja Vu's are a form of mild epilepsy.... so what am i feeling? A short circuit in my brain? or something on a more spiritual level?

Between these thought's and the most realistic of my dreams I need to ask a myself some big questions......

Am i dead?
Am i living my in my 'life review'?
Is my life passing before my eyes in 'real-time' ?
What is life?
What is death?

I'd imagine that these thoughts would scare me, but they bring me a sense of comfort. My big new years resolution is to expand my spiritual knowledge. Little did I know that it would start with the big questions.

K8 got me the Tibetan book of living and dying this summer.... I'll have to read more than the first 100 pages this time =)

Why am I wearing this stupid man suit?

Got a good phone call yesterday morning. I've now finished one part of my apprenticeship.... the work experience.

I needed 7300 hours ( 4 years ) of work to qualify for journeymanship.... that's done, now just need to finish my 4th year of school and I'm DONE!

I'll have my ticket and I'll be free to work anywhere in the known world.... because the netherworld doesn't have indoor plumbing..... i assume. =)

YAY!
