Finally!

I haven't shown artwork in Ukiah since Gail closed Tangerine Gallery. This show is exactly what I needed to jumpstart revamping the studio to accommodate sewing and painting at the same time! And with a new door between the studio and the courtyard, I'll be able to easily relocate equipment to the courtyard when the weather permits.

I'm in love

Leo and Lily
They are silly, smart, manic, curious, snuggly, sociable and The Best Darn Cats since our last ones died.

Tomatillos!

These are some pretty plants (the orange underneath is not them, its marigolds). Grew em from seed, but late, so keeping fingers crossed they mature before the weather changes.

I so looked forward to growing vegies, its a good thing I do actually enjoy it! And in the front of the house, the entire front lawn is covered in black plastic so it will Die Die Die and in October lots of nice native plants and other drought tolerant cuties can go in the ground.

Now if somebody would come out here and help us figure out the roofwater cachement we need to save winter water for summer crops...

Meet Leo, but not yet Lilly

Our last cats came from the SFSPCA. Oscar and Della were 3 yr old littermates, raised together, Lynx point Siamese mixes, and brought us much joy and laughter in the years we shared. A few years ago, in the early spring, they died within a couple of weeks of each other.

Monday we were at the feed store to get a bale of straw. In cages from Anderson Valley Animal Rescue were Leo and Lilly, 1.5 yr old littermates, raised together, Seal point Siamese mixes. They came home with us Thursday. Lilly is still hiding most of the time. But here's Leo. He is built like a cougar, moves like a weasel, loves to get belly rubs and head brushing and will follow me like a dog if I trail a piece of string for him to chase. He's as smart and funny as Oscar was. We suspect Lilly is smarter than Della (who was dumb as a post but had a wonderful disposition so it didn't matter).
