There are some who call me...

Gender
Female
Age
29
Location
about me
I'm a student here at CWU and am working towards BS degrees in Biology and Anthropology (possibly Chemistry too...I wonder how long I can go before I have a nervous breakdown...hmm...)

In my spare time, I enjoy SCA events and the Faire. I only got to go to one event last year and that was my first event for about 2 years. I've been hard at work with class and work which hasn't left time for much else.

I've been belly dancing for a while but have never been really "serious" about it. I'm now looking into performing at some places around town and maybe on a big stage...ooh...I get so nervous even thinking about it. There's an event in late April I'm thinking about performing at...any thoughts?

Other stuff...I'm a total Trekkie...even my bdance name is a reflection of it...Shakari...**edit** Ok...I've been thinking about this whole belly dance name thing. So I'm not so sure I want to go by that, or any name at all. I have started to fall in love with another 'name' that I came across, though I'm not sure if I'm allowed to. It's the early name of one of my favourite 80's bands. Better known as The Pogues, their original name (and the name I'm liking now) is pogue mahone. So what about this whole name thing? Is it really something to do? I dunno...any help...Ok...**edit done**

I also love Battlestar Galactica (the new version, not the old) and am a HUGE Doctor Who fan. I also cried when I read the last Harry Potter book...so if you haven't figured it out yet...I'm quite the geek too.

Now go away of I shall taunt you a second time!

Nah..just kidding...Well...that's about it for now...

I speak...therefore I make noise...

"Marriage is a vital social institution. The exclusive commitment of two individuals to each other nurtures love and mutual support. Civil marriage is at once a deeply personal commitment to another human being and a highly public celebration of the ideals of mutuality, companionship, intimacy, fidelity, and family. Because it fulfills yearnings for security, safe haven, and connection that express our common humanity, civil marriage is an esteemed institution and the decision whether and wh... read more

"The trust that others place in you is your grace."

Are you a resident of WA state? Howabout a friend/family of someone who lives there? Then makes sure you vote to approve Referendum 71 in November. It may or may not be on the ballot, as there is currently litigation in King County which questions about 30,000 of the signatures submitted for this initiative.

If you are not familiar with R71 and its history, here is a little bit of info for you. A couple of years ago, domestic partnerships became a reality for same-sex and senior citizen co... read more

Like now. I have homework I need to be doing, but here I am. I could be doing homework, but Tribe is actually running and working "normal". But, you know what will happen right? As soon as I do finish my homework, Tribe will go down, and I will no longer be able to play on here for a week until they fix it. I think I saw that written somewhere when I signed the terms/conditions agreement thing...

Obama's plan for gay rights: www.obamasplanforgayrights.com/

From the New York Times:

"In the presidential campaign, President Obama declared that he would work to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act. Now, the administration appears to be defending it out of a sense of obligation to support a validly enacted Congressional law. There is a strong pre... read more

Re: Doctor Who Awash in Action With New ‘Waters of Mars’ Trailer (in Doctor Who) While we're talking about creepy episodes, I forgot about a really creepy one (of the New Who's) was 'Midnight'. Re: TF as an Xmas gift...a practicality question... (in !!BlackSheep, Tribal Fest & Kajira D.) That's what I figured, but I thought I would ask just in case.

You know...something that might be a good idea (if you have the time and inclination) are Tribal Fest Gift Certificates. I imagine that would be pretty hard to keep track of though... read more
