I work as a database analyst but hope to use my humanities degree to do something someday. Teaching is what I would really like to do but for now this will work. Good company and people. I am a music junkie listening to everything from Tom Waits and Rickie Lee Jones to the Carpenters or Black Sabbath. Music that mixes in Folk, Blues and Jazz are my favorites. Progressive BLuegrass (bluegrass played with a jazz sensibility) is also a favorite. Listening to Greetings from Asbury Park right now I'm really into JOhn Steinbeck right now. Just finished Of Mice and Men. East of Eden and Cannery Row started me off. He is one of those people that god has reached down and touched saying "Yep you know what it's about". Other writers that I feel about this way about are Thomas Wolfe, Ray Bradbury, Kurt Vonnegut and Mark Twain. Movies and TV any and all (ok most) forms of artistic expression and creation turn me on. Old shows like All in the family and MASH. Newer ones like Northern Exposure. There was a great one called SPorts Night for awhile that was like a great short play. Machine gun dialogue like a play by David Mamet. (the same guy created The West Wing,Aaron Sorkin)
I want to get something going that will stir up the creative gene in people. That is what is missing in this world. No one is seeing the possibilities. That is the main problem with the Republican Party (I am actually more of a Libertarian than a Dem)they want to go back to the 50's. There have been too many changes since then and the 50's were really on good for middle class white guys anyway. I have many ideas for getting things going. Let me know if you have any. Peace.
