Rodent is one of those people that says he's going to do something, and then actually follows through and does it. He seems to have an endless supply of energy, enthusiasm, and creativity. Rodent's commitment to community and creativity is surpassed by nobody I know. He selflessly creates, donates, includes, and inspires.

Looking for an Old Camera
(blog entry)
Hey kids. Anyone have an old digital camera lying about? It doesn't have to be super keen, or really high res, just needs to work. I could even cough up $20 or so for it.

--- rodent (putting the eek in geek) Good god, people actually want this crap covered in the health care reform... www.boingboing.net/2009/07/...he-e.html --- rodent (putting the eek in geek) www.santacruzsentinel.com/ci_13665065 "Two shot near Pacific Avenue By Jennifer Squires -- Sentinel staff writer Posted: 10/28/2009 10:33:00 PM PDT SANTA CRUZ - Two men were shot near lower Pacific Avenue at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday in a possible drug deal gone bad, police reported. " "Rodent, a deejay at the Blue Lagoon who goes by one name, said he heard about five shots from inside the bar. "I actually thought they were fireworks," he said. " Though, they have to make a correction, I was OUTSIDE the bar at the time (email already send about the correction) --- rodent (putting the eek in geek) www.imdb.com/title/tt0157503/ In Two Words: Dark Mockumentary In More Words: The tale of a small Minnesota town's beauty contest that just goes wrong. Mockumentary as a genre can go horribly awry if done badly. Drop Dead Gorgeous hits the middle mark though. Definitely entertaining, painfully true at times. Worth a rental if you need some visual bubblegum. The Good: Excellent cast. Kirsten Dunst and Denise Richards are a joy to watch. Even Kirstie Alley isn't too anoying. The script handles the silly and narrow mindedness of both small town culture and Beauty Pagent enthusiasts. Some good laughs and a plot that doesn't slow down beyond it's general lazy pacing. The Bad: Not much beyond the general pitfalls of mockumentary as vehicle to tell the story. This probably wouldn't be as fun if filmed in a standard comedy format. The Ugly: ...in a beauty pagent?!? uh..... I'll just leave it there... Overall: Another fun bit of frill with some surprising depth. --- rodent (putting the eek in geeK) The Ugly: www.imdb.com/title/tt0139239/ In Two Words: Fun Fluff In More Words: This film was a lot of fun. Three separate stories that all cross over each other at various points. Each story adding relevance to the other stories at the points that they cross paths. Quite entertaining and worthy of the odd rewatching. The Good: The Script. Well thought out plotting, All three stories are well paced and none of them stand too far out or overshadow the others. The acting is solid and there are plenty of LOL scenes. The Bad: Not much. Perhaps it's lacking some depth but you're having so much fun that you don't care. The Ugly: Beyond dealing with somewhat subversive subject matters such as drug dealing, gambling, strippers, mobsters and police entrapment, there is nothing terrible here. Overall: Good, solid and entertaining. --- rodent (putting the eek in geek)
