I am posting to acknowledge that I've been tagged. The only problem is I don't really understand the rules. Insufficient data! 8 things about myself? Any 8 things? That's really open-ended. Am I missing something here? If not, I will try to think of 8 things I'd like to share and try to remember them for when i have time to make a longer post.

In other news, here are my lists of books I want to read. I own some of them already.

My sinuses feel good, my skin is relaxed, and it gives my hair just a little extra body.

It makes the air heavier, and at sometimes warmer.

And when it's cool and humid like it was the other night, it's like walking through a sorbet! Refreshing, but not sticky.

Boredom is a state of mind.

My jr. high biology teacher used to say that. He also said "You *choose* to be bored," implying, of course, that we can choose something else.

But screw that, I'm bored! Really what I think this is related to is my cycle, like everything. My "extra bonus" period has just ended, and fortunately that means less of certain hormone-related things, but unfortunately also less of certain other ones. I always feel kind of like a blank slate when my period is over. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

I'm not anhedonic, but I could use a break from the routine. Only problem is, I don't know what that would be. What would be fun? What would be interesting? What do I want to do or imagine doing?

Chocolate milk?
Hot sauce on my sandwich?
The Onion audio reports?
New underwear?
Any ideas?

Everyone criticizes the administration's short-sightedness, but has anyone speculated as to what might be motivating it?

I mean, think about it:

Non-sustainable energy policy
Burning bridges in our relations with other countries
Deficit spending (buy now, pay later! It's the American way!)
Screwing the environment
Screwing education , childcare, healthcare, etc. (but Children Are the FUTURE!)
Not bothering with an exit strategy for Iraq before invading it (or even now)

This is more than just greed and stupidity. They're thinking like there's no tomorrow. You know what? Maybe they know something we don't. Maybe there really IS no tomorrow. Maybe they're planning a big nuclear fireworks show in 2008, or maybe they're some kind of paranoid death cult that thinks then date of the end specified in Revelation is SOON so they better live it up while they can.

I mean, what else could they possibly be thinking?

Maybe they use rejected/inedible tomatoes? we can only hope.

BUNOL, Spain (Reuters) - Tens of thousands of people armed with 100 tonnes of plum tomatoes took part in the "Tomatina" on Wednesday, joyously splattering each other in the Spanish town of Bunol.

That's what we should be doing right now. Not being cooped up in a stuffy office building with a bunch of finger-pointing, inefficient whiners who talk too much. It's really a beautiful day outside. Spreadsheets are nice, but not on a day like this.
