Ellen is probably one of the most brilliant and beautiful of my friends. I am consistenly surprised by her ability to expand, open, and transform. As an artist versed in painting, modern and Butoh dance, and installation, she creates some of the most interesting and delightfully stunning images. She is someone who knows how to delve into darkness and transform it into beauty. As a friend she is caring, sensitive, challenging, intuitive, and absolutely fun. Never a dull moment and she can engage in conversation on any subject with authority and intelligence. She is one of the most special people in my life and a fantastic collaborator. She is a rare and unique friend and I assure you, an intellectual and artistic force to be reckoned with. (I mean that with the utmost respect).

Rather than choosing one social problem to th... read more

I have some with a pink tutu and some that are with a black background and a stick dress. The latter have been up for awhile. I am working on a website, so I hired a photographer to take these. A couple need to be lightened up (she is doing this with photoshop).

But I wanted to get some feedback! It is interesting, the process of trying to display the essence of yourself through portraits. Thought provoking!
A couple of months ago Max Lord and I organized a group of experimental sound and butoh movement artists from New England and New York in a loft space in downtown Boston. We invited a small group of friends and family to gather with us to watch us perform spontaneously constructed works...
