scary movies

A long time ago I used to be a total scream queen! However somwhere down the line I have lost my nerve and my sister found it. She'll watch anything...nerves of steel I tell ya. So my brother and sister are sucking me back in to update myself on years of horror movies gone by. So far I have watched Texas Chainsaw...the beginning and The Hills Have Eyes. I was so nausiated (spelling?) after TC that the beautiful flank steak i took out for dinner, went right back in the freezer. We ate soup and sandwiches instead. Now Hills was just unnessary and down right stupid. So what am I missing here? Apparently the holy grail of horror Is Saw. My sister is just insisting the the Saw movies are the way to go. I'll let you know as I'm watching it with my blankie up to my eyes and remote in hand.

The Ring was the last horror flick I'll ever watch, I had disturbing nitemares for weeks after that one. I'll take a sexy, romantic comedies any day and be a serene queen! LOL. My little boy, however, cant wait for the day he can watch Freddy and Jason movies. Is that just a boy thing? I hope!

I actually did see The Ring, Annette. I too was disturbed for weeks! I like the old horror flicks, but this new genre is just disturbing. Not sure I like disturbing mindf**** movies. My favorite kinds of movies are the big epic ones! That take place in a specific period, like Cleopatra.

I don't like horror flicks either. The violence is appaling. Don't we get enough of that in the news?

I'd much rather watch something suspenseful, like a Hitchcock movie, say "Rear Window."

Rafiqua.... 'Rear Window' is in my all time, top 10 favorite movies. My Mom and I used to watch it together. I wrote a paper in college called, "Applying Rear Window to Daily Life'.

I'm with ya
Yeah, I've never liked scream flicks, and decided not too long ago that I don't need to watch any more movies that deal with the disgusting horrors of life. I figured this out after watching "Seven" and being dogged by disturbing thoughts and images for weeks (even now, once in a while!). Life's too short for that stuff. I say watch happy movies. What's wrong with a good ol'fashioned musical? Maybe the world would be a better place if we all watched "Holiday Inn" instead of "Saw."
