This page is dedicated to my artistic endeavors. My main hobby right now is belly dancing. I sometimes write poems, play hand drums, and do other forms of dance like cajun, zydeco, west coast swing, and salsa.
My profession is the quite the opposite of my main hobby. I'm a physicist, and luckily my work is okay with my dancing. I've even danced for cultural day at work. Even in my field at large people are often surprised that is my hobby, but most in my field don't think less of my work. So I'm lucky that my field is so modern, and I get to work with people all around the world. Often I find they find it interesting that I'm not one dimensional.

The barton springs pool was really nice. There is a nice mix of shade and sun, and the pool is as wide as a football field and about 3 or 4 football fields long. The water was cold which helps one survive the Texas heat.

Recently, I got to see the Mamou Playboys play. I hadn't seen them in a long while. To my surprise Steve sang the Edith Piaf song "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien". I told him to keep that one in rotation. It is fun for me to see them since I've been going to see them play for so long, back when they'd play in VFWs and Knights of Columbus in Alabama. I still remember those adventurous Birmingham shows they did ; - ) .

My boss also submitted the death of Ulysses paper for SWOOPS that I helped him with. 
My neighbor Ed and I went over to the retirement home. He played piano and I belly danced.

Got a fair amount of yard work going on. My flower beds are at their peak. I have a lot of gravel around the house now. We chased of the possum that kept digging his way under my house. Mothballs did the trick. The cat across the street and my plastic owl are scaring off some of the birds. I got some plumbagos and planted them in some of the areas where the sun was killing off the grass.
