¿Que Paso?

I miss the open markets bustling with people dressed in vibrant colors speaking in the tongues of the ancients.

I miss the gathering of women around the tortillerias where the sweet maiz turns into soft steamy pancakes as it has for thousands of years.

This past week has been a long healing process for myself. A week ago while walking from Sebastian's house to mine (only 5 blocks away) I was attacked. I was hesitant to post this but I feel now after processing and taking it all in that I want to share my experience. It was a sunday night and so there weren't very many people out and about. It´s a mad house down here...politics are blowen up....Time to educate the masses. I´m not even sure where to start when I think about all the events and everyone that is involved. I´m curious to know what has been covered in the news in the states. The day that I arrived Dec. 2nd. politics were already heated because the neighboring Chavez was trying to pass a controversial referendum that would grant the president the right to stand for re-election indefinitely as well as increasing the ter... read more

oh...so many thoughts floating all around.... Last night I returned back to the mainland. While enjoying the beach life i meet a beautiful colombian writer who has opened his heart and has become such a beautiful friend. Thank you Ruben Orozco for your stories and kindness. Also an avid reader of Marquez we went and saw Love in the Time of Cholera...which i really recommend to all to read and also to see this movie..so beautifully filmed...it captured colombia ...to be in a crowd of colombia... read more

I made it ! safe and sound with only a few bumps along the road, such as my missing luggage but hopefully that will get cleared up soon. Sweet Boulder tribe i´m sorry i wasn´t able to say my hellos and goodbyes to everyone but I thank you all so much for supporting me on my journey back home.
