about me
Ah, narcissism. I'm really no good at 'personal' bios, even if I've done professional bios for years. There's WAY too much going on in my life to synopsize effectively. One of my favorite sayings is, "Don't tell me to get a life; I have too many already." Combine that with, "Sleep? OH, that's that new-fangled caffeine substitute!" and "Sleep is for the weak. I'll sleep when I'm dead!" and you can probably get a clearer idea of the pace of my life. Probably my biggest challenge is staying awake while driving, as so many of my activities are long-distance. Having a drive partner helps dramatically, as does having phone buddies. However, I tend to 'not want to impose' when it's late at night (and I need the company the most) because I was raised with the idea that you don't call acquaintances after 9pm, and you don't call ANYONE after 10pm. Never mind that I've tried to impress on those to whom I've given my phone number that they can use it 24/7 if need be...

I was raised in California, yes, but with an East Coast attitude and social skill-set. I'm a contributing member of society and a conservative libertarian, registered Republican, stage performer, musician, costumer, Christ-inspired spiritualist, poet, writer, responsible hedonist, social butterfly and occasional desperate recluse.

Bundle of contradictions, that's me. My favorite quote is, "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture." Some things are just inexpressible; they must be felt. However, I strive with all my being to be able to convey everything in words, wherefore my vocabulary is a bit more extensive than the average bear's.

I love and am loved. I am married to a man who gives me license to flirt as I will, and believes as I do that real love is neither wrong nor solitary.

Given a choice of words like ambition, perfection, relaxation, confidence, fame, etc. I will always prefer the word Passion. Nothing is done well if not done passionately, and that is how I attempt to live my life.

A new favorite quote from Max Frankel is, "That which shines brightly must endure burning." And I saw something on a friend's journal that said, "You asked for light, so I set myself on fire." These things shake my soul to its foundations; beyond that I cannot explain how I feel them, but it is powerful.

And I've rambled long enough. Thanks.
