The Amazing Jessikah
About five years back, I crossed paths with a young lady that changed my life course dramatically, in a really good way.
I've always desired to dance but having waited until my 30s to be introduced to dance, I struggled with my first few instructors (and they likely me). Then I met Jessikah. She was teaching beginner's bellydance for the very first time due to a maternity leave situation. With the help of my ego, I initially thought I was going to be shortchanged by my having this "substitute" teach me dance. Oh my - was I wrong. What a joy this lady is. She instructs with the same beauty that is her. She gently guides one on each movement and in the process, restores self-confidence and enables one to lovingly embrace the beautiful body we are each given. I eventually joined a troupe and at the wonderful age of 40, had my first dance recital in a local restaurant. Since then, I have (troupe) danced at faires, haflas, and festivals. Whether new to dance or an avid belly dancer, I recommend you give Jessikah a try. Fiwi |
