Chimpanzees are my passion. I moved from Arkansas to Washington to go to graduate school and to work with the chimps at CWU. Washoe, Tatu, Loulis, and Dar became four of my best friends and literally changed my world. I consider myself an activist in ways, in that I hope to educate others on the plights chimpanzees face, both in captivity and in the wild. They are our closest living relatives and they are going extinct, yet we continue to bring them to the US and abuse them for our entertainment or do senseless biomedical experiments that have little to no real value. They experience the same emotions we do, yet we continue to incarcerate them for life. I hope to one day start my own sanctuary and to make a difference in captive chimpanzee care. It is my duty, knowing what I know, to make there time here as enriching and as pleasurable as possible.

Beyond that, I love live music.... I spend a lot of time on the dance floor. :) I've traveled all around the US, but not much beyond- one day... I followed phish around for a good 8 years, which was an amazing time in my life, for sure. Would do it again in a heartbeat. :) I still try to be an avid show-goer, and would love to meet people who do the same.
