Dear Diary #19: HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!

   Sun, June 21, 2009 - 3:58 AM
A happy Fathers Day to all you dads out there!

I had a blast at Woodsong, playing back-up for Michael Johnathon (getting to play with his amazing ensemble is always an honor) and sitting on the stage next to Grammy nominee & IBMA award winner Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, and just a few feet away from blues master & WC Handy Award nominee Guy Davis. WOW!

We had a ROCKIN' drum jam/drum circle at Cheapside Park last night - about a dozen folks there with a nice variety of noise makers (including a couple of didges) playing a coll variety of grooves. BAM! The only downside was when we arrived and found out that the city has removed the water fountains. UUGGHH!! We'll find a new location for future jams.

This afternoon ALIEN BLUE is at TALON WINERY for a last Lexington gig for a while, then we're off to WV, OH, IN, TN, GA, & SC. Should be a blast!

Then back to the recording studio. Paul (the recording engineer for "Virtual Light") has been slammin' busy with his new acoustic duo The Mockracy, so my son Nik has jumped in for the end (mixing engineer). Once it's mixed, I'll master the puppy and it's a wrap. My brother Joshua is handling the cover art, and then it'll be in a store near YOU!!!

More soon!
