about me
I worked my first event in 2000 when I was asked to help the producers of Goddess Fest to help with set up and tear down, hand out flyers and posters and otherwise spread the word about the event. Two years later I became a partner in Gruntwerks, a local production company where I participated in producing the following events:
The Eagle Island Experience-An ecology based family celebration geared to bring out the creative expression in all of us. A place where people can come together to share and communicate their ideas and talents in an experience of nature, crafts, performances and unique adventures where all are accepted and treated with dignity and respect. Held the 3rd weekend in May at Eagle Island State Park. Now in it’s 7th year. A different beneficiary is chosen by application each year. Idaho City Music on the Rocks- This event was designed to bring music together with history and let them make their own magic. Concerts at the amphitheater, street musicians, performers jam sessions. There are also a variety of historic sites, unique shops and great places to eat and drink as well as other activities to take advantage of! Benefiting the Idaho City Arts Council. The Sunday Blues- This is a yearly gathering of the Boise Blues Society members and blues fans from around the valley. People bring their blankets and lawn chairs to hear an afternoon of blues music presented by both local and national performers. The venue includes craft and food booths as well as Joe’s Traveling Bar for an ice-cold beer! This family event is a great way to spend an afternoon while raising funds for the BBS’ popular “Blues in the Schools” program. The New Old Time Chautauqua-The New Old Time Chautauqua was founded in 1981 by a group of performers, health care practitioners and educators as a vehicle for once again bringing entertainment and educational workshops to rural and remote communities. It’s a new approach to an old idea, bringing the past to the present. This all-volunteer troupe has played a vital role in the renaissance of vaudeville by staging 3 to 6 week summer tours in the regions throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, British Columbia and Alaska. Their performance in the Treasure Valley was a benefit for the Alzheimer’s Association. Garden Valley’s Music in the Mountains-This is an annual fundraising event for the Garden Valley Recreation District. The event attracts people both locally and regionally. There is Country/Bluegrass music on the stage, art, craft and food vendors around the park as well as the local shops and eateries. The event is designed to showcase the culture and quality of life in the Garden Valley area as well as to raise funds for the completion of their new park. The Hyde Park Street Fair- This is an annual fund raising event for the North End Neighborhood Association. The event attracts an estimated 30,000 who come to shop for art, crafts and food, enjoy music, dancing, non-profit information and all sorts of other entertainment. Currently in it’s 29th year, The Hyde Park Street Fair features a main stage with local and national performers, the world stage featuring local belly dance troupes, poetry slam, psychics, comedians, and singer-songwriters. There is also a very large fenced in kid’s area with carnival games and jump houses as well as over 100 craft and food vendors! As head of operations at Gruntwerks I coordinated all aspects of event operations, from determining the need for and ordering power, sanitation, water and portable toilets, and security, scheduling, vendor set up and tear down, trouble-shooting and putting out fires as they would arise. Since all the events were fundraisers I have also had experience in talking with sponsors and various other marketing aspects. My knowledge includes all aspects necessary to plan a successful fundraising event, from the idea stage to tear down and cleanup and everything in between. I have accumulated over 6 years of experience in the event business and have the expertise to help you create and run your event successfully.
