Marta is the creator of some of the most beautiful veils I have ever seen, a very talented artist, and one of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting online. I hope to have the honour of meeting her in person someday! I absolutely treasure my Madre Luna veils, and they garner compliments wherever I go with them. Marta's veils are like potato chips--you can't stop with just one!

about me
I have been teaching 7-12 grade art now forever. This is officially my 15th year. (wow, am I really that old?!) I am married, (check out his profile at people.tribe.net/958c3521-...4eaa09be39 ) and have 3 step children 22, 21, and 17. I am also the proud parent of one dog (Shayodi) 4 cats (Sarah, Seymour, Sargent and Sable)
Take a look at my hand dyed veils! I am LOVING dying silk and making my own stuff. You can see them here in my photos section here in the tribes or on my website at www.miners-peak.com/bellydance

I just received my veils. They are STUNNING! My husband (who can't match his own socks and hasn't a clue about veils) LOVED them. They are just breathtaking, like a painting. Your picture of them was beautiful, but was nothing compaired to the real thing.
Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! July 16, 2007
Everyone has commented on Marta's incredible art talent, but she is also a great ear to hear. She helped me through a bad week towards the end of college and even though it was just a few e-mails it made all the difference in the world that week.

Dealing with Marta on tribe is a great experience. Her participation in my silly tribe is a lot of fun and her husband is not supposed to know what I know about her ebay addication. He only gets the bills, but I get the stories LOL.
Kidding aside, Marta is a wonderful friend to have on tribe and is also a talented artist and an amazing person. Bruce March 27, 2007
I love this lady's amazing creativity. Her veils are incredible..they have a life of their own. Desert Veils are really happy to be dancing with Marta's veils!
Congrats to *drum roll please*

In the spirit of Miss Geisha Moth, I am going to run a contest. I need to figure out what to call my "mess up" veils, which I will sell occassionally at a discounted price. "Mess Up" generally means I got a color run where I didn't want one. Sometimes this is a big run, sometimes it is subtle.

Your job? I can't call them "ooops veils" because that's what Jes from Akai silks calls hers.....so I need something cute, creative, funny...to call mine. I have a "mess up" in red, orange and yellow ... read more
4 weeks of school left and I am a combination of excited, stressed and anxious. I advise the yearbook, so from about early March when the last deadline has to be submitted, until mid april when the books arrive and I have to start tagging them, I can breath....I went to a yearbook workshop in St. George yesterday and left my little cherubs with a sub. Even though I was doing school stuff, the day away from a formalized school day was really nice. I got ideas for next years cover, chatted with...

March 25th. Is it finally spring? It was too warm and nice to stay indoors today. PHS has what the call an "outdoor classroom." The AG kids spend time down there learning about plants, helping care for the area. (It's a beautiful restored block in the middle of town where the first DR. had his homestead.) In the spring they plant a garden and donate the produce to Care and Share. My 8th graders, my trusty senior assistant and I walked the 3 blocks in the cool wind to the pond where the kids w...
