about me
I live and work in downtown Vancouver. I used to live in East Van, where I have met some of the most amazing people ever! I love this city and I'm thankful for the fabulous people that live here. I lived in Germany for a few years but I just had to coem back home.

I'm a pretty laid back and an easy going gal. I've got a wicked sense of humour and if I make fun of you, I'm really just asking for some funny in return. I love to write, I'm actually writing a book and I'm about 60% done. Mostly I like to write funny life stories about being a single woman in Vancouver (and the world!), dating, and all those funny ass things that happen to us as humans living in van-city. I'll post several stories here to entertain you, also, please visit my blog on the wonderful Katia and Shawn created website:
www.lovinganddating.com. My blog is called: Stupid Man Tricks and yes, I'm wearing a Shakira wig in the picture.

I started belly dancing about 2 years ago with Rahma and then started taking classes with Sarita about 1 year later. I've fallen in love with the dance and I hope to follow in the footsteps of my 2 very talented and beautiful teachers and dance until I can't dance anymore! I just wish I'd discoverd belly dance sooner: I love everything about it, especially the beautiful sense of community and sisterhood felt with other dancers. Lately I've become very interested in tribal Fusion and I'm looking to take more classes soon.

Poem: Fleeing To Set It Free (blog entry) hey guys,

I wrote this one a while ago but it's still one of my favourites. Can anyone guess what it is about or perhaps who this is about? I'm wonderign if it means different things to different people.

Cheers

My Blog

I wrote this one a few months ago, just before my big interview in To (which I didn't get, but oh well!)

Carrying me along with a joyous ferocity,
miscellaneous momentum sprinkled with curious anticipation,
I rush along head first down the river of my life.

Sometimes velocity slows to a peaceful float.
Equanimity found, gathering together with others in pacified pools
To reflect and ponder,
Momentum paused to regain bated breath lost along the way.

Other times I see the s... read more

Fleeing To Set It Free

Running through this life
Trying to escape the memory of you
Afraid of my own fantasies
As fast as the wind will carry me
I flee

I’ve been running for some time now
And I can see the ground in front of me diminishing
As I approach t... read more

Turning Cold Water into Wine

I’ve often heard people use the expression: “When life throws you lemons, make lemonade”. I listen to this fruity little piece of philosophy all the time and each time I think to myself: How can you turn sour lemons into sweet lemonade without the sugar? Where do you get the sugar from? I mean, if it were simply a matter of squeezing life’s lemons into a drinkable form, everyone would be ... read more

Stealing My Own Car

Have you ever had your car towed away? Perhaps even ticketed and towed? Ever had to watch your poor car being carried away as you ran after it in a desperate attempt to stop the tow truck driver? Maybe this unfortunate event has happened to you while you were traveling. Perhaps you’ve been one of the semi lucky ones who were able to interfere in time and get their car back for a mere 20 dollar driver payoff. I’ve done that once or twice. The fact is, the expense and inc... read more

A Midget Story: Leprechaun In Vegas

Have you ever taken the time to stop and admire the midgets around you? How do they make you feel? Do you smile when you see them making their way down the street with an almost defiant air of confidence, or do you pity their small existence and thank the powers that be that you were not born of such small proportions? Do you even notice them at all? Perhaps you have wanted to stop one and ask them to tell you about their life. Perhaps you wonder wha... read more
