nothing new

How's everyone doing? As for me, nothings new. Still teaching dance.

I have been working with a fellow alumn on my 20th reunion next year. I know what you're thinking, why start now when it's a year away. If you only knew what all went into planning this thing. We picked a theme about 6 months ago, Tequilla Sunrise, and have been compiling a data base since then. We have the budget worked out and the decorations are in the process but trying to find everyone is a bitch.

If you read this and you graduated with us in 88 please send me your info. I have already gone to Del Rio twice this year trying to get ahold of people and work out some kinks. It was a blast believe it or not. We are going to make this party last 3 days so no sleep for the sinful.

My troupe got a studio finally, now we have a home base. I'm still teaching at the gyms and I'm about to start another class. Between school, dance and the reunion, I've been staying pretty busy.

I think I'm dropping school this summer. Stephen graduates in 08 and I need to start saving money for his school. I can't believe that my little baby boy is a Junior this year. He's planning on going to ACC for a couple of years then into the fire academy. Yummy firemen hehehehe I don't think he's going to move out which is good. I don't know how I'm going to be if he does. He's been my longest relationship with a male, and that's just because I couldn't kick him out hehehe. I laugh but it does break my heart a little.

Well, I think that's all for now. I know my blogs are boring but at least they're short. As soon as something exciting happens (that I can write about) I'll let you know

life as normal

Well, I'm back to normal.......... sort of. I've had a very busy holiday and life is getting back to normal. Things are still a little crazy though.

I have a show at the Red Fez this Friday, An Arabian Night, and I'm a little nervous about it. It's Egyptian style dancing and I haven't danced like that in years. I'm a tribal dancer and the music is not what I'm use to but I think I'll do fine. I'm more worried about costuming than anything. It's the "have to look better than the girl next to me" thing. I've never been this nervous about a show since the first time I performed.

School starts next week and I have so many chapters of a book to read before it even starts. There goes my weekend.

I just got back from 3rd coast tribal workshop and have a whole page of dance ideas. I can't wait to get with the other girls and put it all together. There were some great dancers there and we all had a great time. Janis went with me and we did a lot of brain storming on this coming year. I think I found a studio but it needs a lot of work and the rent is high so I don't know if it's a go or not. Janis is into marketing so she is getting the business proposal together. Who knows, it might work. I bought a lot of new stuff there. They had some great vendors.

I have new classes starting next week in Cedar Park as well. I love to teach but I'm ready to perform again. I feel like I'm getting out of wack with just teaching. I have a friend of mine who says I need a promoter so she looking for one for me. I love it, I don't have to do any work hehehehe.

My skiing trip went well. I almost broke my let and my brother broke his nose by landing face first in the snow and ice. He was doing jumps off this ramp and the first couple of time he looked really good. Stephen, my son, is getting better and better at skiing. I was very proud of him. We all had a great time except for Carole, my to be sister in law. She has never skied before and didn't do much of it because she kept falling. Angelfire was a hard slope. Their green runs were like blues. My mom and I missed Ruidoso so I think we are going back there next year.

I spent New Years with friends and that was fun. We danced all night long, like always. Patty made a bunch of good food and I ate way too much.

All in all, my holiday was full of friends and family and that's the way I like it.

Happy Holidays

The year is almost done.

I just got back from Taos NM for X-mas. My whole family went and we had a pretty good time. My brother broke his nose falling on his face, skiing. I bruised my leg pretty bad. I had 3 really bad spills, needless to say, Angelfire is a hard mountain to ski. It feels like that vacation flew by quickly. Now it's back to work

I'm spending New Years with friends so that should be fun. We go to the same friends house every year. I get to dress up, some say I clean up real nice hehehehe.

After New Years, I'm off to Ft Worth for the Tribal workshop, then to Del Rio for girls night away. Gosh, I'm tired just thinking about it. After all that, it's back to school.

We had girls night out last night and I had to get up at 8 this morning to teach my aerobics class. My eyes are getting tired so I better go and lick my wounds from abusing myself last night.

Almost Done!!!!!!!

School is almost finished. I have one more final on Wednesday and then I'm on vacation. During the break I'm going skiing again, next week to be exact. This time to Angelfire in New Mexico (can't wait to hit the slopes). Hope I come back intact

I'm also going to Ft Worth in January for Urban Gypsys Tribal Workshop (3rd Coast Workshop). Three days of dancing. The girls that I've been training are going to be performing for the first time on a stage. I'm so excited for them.

Stephen's 17th birthday is coming up. I can't believe it. It feels like only yesterday he was in dipers. I sometimes miss those days ....... I said sometimes.

Well, I better go I have some studying to do, wish me luck.

Busy Busy Busy

Things are kinda crazy right now. I have been doing a lot of teaching lately. In the last two weeks I have taught everything from dance to yoga. A total of 17 classes. You would think I would be in better shape. hehehehe I have a show to do this week at a church that is putting on a private middle eastern party. I get to play dress up, I love to play dress up. I started up two new classes in Cedar Park. It was only suppose to be one class but there were so many on the waiting list that we had enough to make two. Now, there are more on another list that want to take my classes. This hobby is turning out to be a job hehehehe

School is going by quickly. I already have to schedule my classes for next semester. Midterms are going on right now and my head is too full of information to process anything that needs to happen after the holidays. I'm just ready for it to be over and then it's off to the slopes of New Mexico for a week of skiing. With this weird weather, I hope there's real snow and not the stuff they make.

Well, better run. I have lots of things to do

Birthmonth is almost over

Don't think I'm not going to let it go without a bang. Halloween is coming and I'm ready to party. So many parties to go to, so little time to get to them.

I'm glad time changed finally got here, now us freaks can come out sooner hehehehe.

I hope all is well and everyone has a safe and spooky halloween

Week 2 of my Birth-month hehehehe

Well we are up to week 2 of my birth-month and so far, so fun. This last week I was busy with school and the gym but this weekend is coming up. Tonight I'm going to Shannon's and play in mud (makeing pottery) <pervert>. I have a big armoir that needs something and I think it's a great big pot on top of it.

I might have found a place to hold dark moon Hafla's but I have to check the place out first. It's indoors so drummers and dancers don't freeze. It's on the North side so we don't have to drive all the way south for Lucila's full moon Hafla's

Work is busy. My director is in Greece so I'm subbing her classes on top of all my classes. I start a new level 1 class the first Sat in November at 1pm so tell your friends.

Well, better run, I have some homework to do

Happy Birthday to Me!!!!

Well, yesterday was the big b-day. I'm a year older but don't really feel it. What does 37 feel like anyway?
I did get my new lap top which is so cool. I can sit in class and watch movies hehehehe. No really, it's going to make this semesters classes easier. I might even get some things done instead of making excuses at home. Right now I'm at Starbucks (watercooler) and I finished a paper that's not due until next week.
This weekend is a Hafla (party) at Lucila's so the dancing will do me some good. I love teaching but it's been awhile since I got to just do my thing. Some of my students and friends are going to be there. One is bringing a cake hehehehe so they decided to make it a birthday party. Now I have to decide what to wear.
My mom and I are going to the spa tomorrow. A whole day of relaxation. We do this on birthdays and motherdays. It's nice to have a massage, body wrap, pedicure and facial three times a year.
Well, class starts shortly so I better run.

Nothing really exciting going on

I really don't have much of anything going on. School is going good (so far). I have been working a lot and that's good because of the money.
I have been trying to put together a dark moon Hafla for this winter but I can't seem to find where to do it. I would like indoors so the drummers don't freeze and I've looked into apartment complexes, however, I don't know anyone who lives in on the North side. All the Hafla's are South so I think one North would be cool.
My birthday is coming up so if you need a list, I have one ready hehehehe
gotta run

School is starting

It seems like yesterday I was just finishing finals and now I'm back, off to the races.
This sem isn't going to be a full load (because I'm a chicken) but full enough with teaching at the gyms and working on new cues and moves in the studio.
I started teaching a water aerobics class twice a week at "o god" 30 am. I hate getting up early in the mornings. This makes 6 classes a week teaching, plus study time. I can't believe I have time to sit for this. I was reading a treaded blog on RB's tribe about practice scheduling and some were giving their weekly accounts of practice time, I was going to my daily but I didn't think there was room hehehe
well gotta run, almost noon and time to get to the studio.
