My Blog
life as normal
Wed, January 10, 2007 - 10:08 AMI have a show at the Red Fez this Friday, An Arabian Night, and I'm a little nervous about it. It's Egyptian style dancing and I haven't danced like that in years. I'm a tribal dancer and the music is not what I'm use to but I think I'll do fine. I'm more worried about costuming than anything. It's the "have to look better than the girl next to me" thing. I've never been this nervous about a show since the first time I performed.
School starts next week and I have so many chapters of a book to read before it even starts. There goes my weekend.
I just got back from 3rd coast tribal workshop and have a whole page of dance ideas. I can't wait to get with the other girls and put it all together. There were some great dancers there and we all had a great time. Janis went with me and we did a lot of brain storming on this coming year. I think I found a studio but it needs a lot of work and the rent is high so I don't know if it's a go or not. Janis is into marketing so she is getting the business proposal together. Who knows, it might work. I bought a lot of new stuff there. They had some great vendors.
I have new classes starting next week in Cedar Park as well. I love to teach but I'm ready to perform again. I feel like I'm getting out of wack with just teaching. I have a friend of mine who says I need a promoter so she looking for one for me. I love it, I don't have to do any work hehehehe.
My skiing trip went well. I almost broke my let and my brother broke his nose by landing face first in the snow and ice. He was doing jumps off this ramp and the first couple of time he looked really good. Stephen, my son, is getting better and better at skiing. I was very proud of him. We all had a great time except for Carole, my to be sister in law. She has never skied before and didn't do much of it because she kept falling. Angelfire was a hard slope. Their green runs were like blues. My mom and I missed Ruidoso so I think we are going back there next year.
I spent New Years with friends and that was fun. We danced all night long, like always. Patty made a bunch of good food and I ate way too much.
All in all, my holiday was full of friends and family and that's the way I like it.
