I did my first solo on Friday night at a friends birthday party. So it wasn't exactly some crazy awesome venue but it was still awesome to do it and to be asked to dance. It was a Victorian Vampire party so the solo is a little more gothic I guess. I think it went well. I rushed the beginning but that's been my problem since I started dancing at age 3. I just go on turbo mode when I start dancing.

Today is World Hoop Day! And I gotta say I'm kinda bummed there isn't anything going on in the Pittsburgh area. But I'm contemplating bringing my hoop around tonight to run errands and spread the hooping joy. And then come back quickly and watch the Opening Olympic Ceremonies.

I have been very frustrated recently with my weight, lack of commitment, frustration with sewing, etc. I also had a shoddy class before I went on vacation BUT class this past week went much better and I am quite excited because I will (hopefully) get to perform at our town's yearly Blues fest. And hopefully there will be video and pictures of that as long as I can coerce my sister into taking them. And then our troupe if you want to call it that is putting on Belly of Gold a Bellydance Dinner...

2 years ago I got back into ballet after a 5 year absence and was fine. I missed 4 months of bellydance and now feel I am back where I started. I get very frustrated when people catch on to things before me. I know this shouldn't bother me because everyone goes at their own pace. I'm just very discouraged by letting myself get so far behind. I want to shimmy and do barrel turns and be able to isolate every part of my body. But right now I just feel tubby and sad.

Damn 
I'm 20 now. Yeah that's not old but now my teenage years are behind me which is kind of weird. It went pretty well and the weather co-operated nicely which was awesome. Went to dinner. The pens lost :( and had fun eating ice cream cake and whatnot.

Oh I had no idea about this power mesh but it sounds lovely. Shorts are good but so are spankies (like cheerleader ones) more coverage. I'm so happy I don't have to worry about my underwear. Thankfully there are pants in all of my costumes. Phew :)

I think, especially for cab dancers it would be awesome to find underwear with clear sides, kind of like clear straps for bras. I'm not a cab dancer but most of the costumes have very high slits or have cut outs on the sides. Is it silly to match ...
