I recently came back to Nashville (an hour south of where I had grown up since age 5, Portland, unfortunately) and am dealing with the utterly homogenized culture. I was immediately reminded of why I barely had clung to the seeds of proper grammer upon arrival at my TN Kindergarten class so many years ago.
