I was browsing the the FT when I first came across this article on the rising costs of soyabean prices:

Attributing this shock in the supply to increasing US demand for biofuels -- soyabean crops are being replace with corn, it seems -- and bad crops around the globe, it's evident that global food inflation is a reality.
