Bikram Yoga El Cerrito ( miscellaneous » other ) "Most chill Bikram studio in the Bay" If you are tired of the "kick! kick! kick!" constantly-barking teachers and the general brain-washed quality of funky door, check out Bikram's yoga college of india El Cerrito. Much less "fabulous" but a great studio, great teachers. read more

Octopus's Garden ( local favorites » shops ) "Good aquarium in Berkeley" Probably one of the better places to buy aquarium fish in the East Bay. Nice selection, salt and freshwater, supplies.

Le Cheval ( local favorites » restaurants ) "Best downtown Oakland lunchtime restaurant" This is one of the best places to go to lunch if you work downtown. The lunch specials are around $5-6, and you get soup. Hella cheap, but "real" dining with good service, silverware and cloth napkins. One time I sat at the bar and the bartende... read more

delete me ( local favorites » restaurants ) "Best donuts on Lakeshore Ave" Best donuts on Lakeshore Ave - which actually is saying much since there's at least three of them. Colonial is open 24-7 and does all your favorites right - old fashioned, raised, buttermilk, etc etc. This ham and cheese croissant isn't bad either.

Happy Donuts ( local favorites » restaurants ) "24 Hour Donuts" How can you go wrong with "Happy Donuts" at 4am when you're coming back to the East Bay after partying in the City?
