35 - Kicking and Screaming
(blog entry)
"In the meantime, our President seems to want to blow up Iraq and set the entire Muslim world against us. (They aren't real fond of us anyhow.) Yeah, I'd like to just crawl into bed and pull the blankets up, too. Hang in, sweetie, you're turnin...

Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut is a pretty marvelous book. How could I have gotten this far in life without having read ANY Vonnegut? His sense of satire and sarcasm is biting and funny and best of all dark. Black Sarcastic Humour about the hum...

It is going to be nothing like the praise that has been laid before you by others. I am just watching a movie called "Creepshow" I have no idea what year it was when I first saw it. Though I do know for sure where I was, with you and Ryan ( I think he and Lewis found foxy boxing that night) I was in dallas, had just seen the making of "Thriller" and I think if I was still wearing diapers at the time ( this is not out of the question) I soiled them. How bad is that, I see a horror movie and it makes me think of family.
I guess it could be worse, to some horror is family, I am glad to say that is not the case for me ( cannot speak for you though)
Love you gentle Coz

Christy is a loyal friend, (even when she's gone into her shell), who'll consistently amaze anyone worthy of her time with her inspiration and motivation to make her friends smile. Magical snail mail packages full of love and lucky charms, glow in the dark silk screened fashions, Divine Oracles given through the best music on the planet (chosen intuitively to be the soundtrack of your life, bringing tears and laughter at the same time), and her mere presence make her one of my bestest friends in the whole world. Christy is a pistol. Christy is a charmer. Christy listens only to the wind, but if it blows the wrong way, she'll bite the shit out of it ; )

about me
I enjoy writing a good old fashioned letter to a friend. I drink champagne on any old occasion. I purchase clothing based on feel more than anything. Music is my world. I love to make up words, theories and concepts. I sometimes suffer from terriblehappiness. I've lived in Connecticut, Texas, New York, Utah, Nevada (BRC) and California and learned something truly valuable from each place. I can be moved to tears by "Harry and the Hendersons." I love animals but I can't give up meat.
I am constantly amazed by and grateful for the exceptional folk who hold space with me.
"In the meantime, our President seems to want to blow up Iraq and set the entire Muslim world against us. (They aren't real fond of us anyhow.) Yeah, I'd like to just crawl into bed and pull the blankets up, too. Hang in, sweetie, you're turning into a pretty fair grown-up even though you may be going there kicking and screaming. None of us signed on for this trip knowing how and where it will end so just keep trying to enjoy the journey. Love to you both, Mom."

Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut is a pretty marvelous book. How could I have gotten this far in life without having read ANY Vonnegut? His sense of satire and sarcasm is biting and funny and best of all dark. Black Sarcastic Humour about the human condition is what's funny, not potty jokes or dumbed down slapstick. Anyhow, Slaughterhouse 5 was a great read and so I've been researching Vonnegut a bit and listening to an eAudio book, checked out from the San Francisco public library and downl...

Tonight, Dia de los Muertos procession through the Mission. I put together a little something to put on the community altar.
As I peel back layer after layer, there is still fresh sadness underneath. How is it, this infinite well of longing can exist there in my tiny little heart? Tonight I honor your memory publicly though every day I miss you silently.

I knew this movie got mixed reviews, I don't care. The Beatles are my favorite band and personally, I think they did these songs justice. Julie Taymor really knows how to bring the subconscious into reality. She is really creative, fearless and adventurous. She is willing to try things even if they might not completely translate. Want to see an EXCELLENT film directed by Julie? Titus Andronicus. Yeah it is incredible, Shakespeare people.
She's so Heavy.

Mercury Retrograde period from 10/11/07-11/2/07
10 reasons to love (okay, love is a strong word) Mercury retrograde:
1. If your computer crashes, at least you don't have to work.
2. If the train doesn't show up, well, you can't really work either.
3. You have an instant excuse for being a raging bitch.
4. You can pretend that you "just didn't understand" annoying people.
5. You no longer have to drunk-dial an ex to hear his voice-- he'll probably call you first.
