Music is IT

Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut is a pretty marvelous book. How could I have gotten this far in life without having read ANY Vonnegut? His sense of satire and sarcasm is biting and funny and best of all dark. Black Sarcastic Humour about the human condition is what's funny, not potty jokes or dumbed down slapstick. Anyhow, Slaughterhouse 5 was a great read and so I've been researching Vonnegut a bit and listening to an eAudio book, checked out from the San Francisco public library and downloaded to my computer. This book is called, A Man Without a Country also by Kurt Vonnegut. It's made up of his thoughts & theories. One of the lines from this book is:

"If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph:
THE ONLY PROOF HE NEEDED
FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD
WAS MUSIC"

Some of the most excruciating and/or jubilant times in our lives are punctuated by music. It digs down into your heart and soul, gets under your skin, causing gooseflesh, squeezes tears from your eyes, and makes your booty shake uncontrollably. Ah music, the breath of angels.

hmmmmmmmmmm
Well, your comment led me to think that the five senses probe different emotions and memories each unique. That of 'sound' can provoke an array of intense feelings...melodies set you free, one enters a different realm that needs to be explored...you have left me curious.....i'll look into this author! mua!
