about me
Psychologist by Day
Bellydancer by Night... Day: I am a graduate student in Counseling Psychology at the University of Illinois. My interests center on the legacy of childhood experience in Adult and Adolescent Romantic Relationships. However, I have also done work on Emotion Regulation (through physiological signatures) & Adult Attachment with Glenn Roisman, and Breast Cancer screening behavior in Latina women with Lydia Buki. For more about my research and non-dance writings see... hypatia360.livejournal.com/ Night: I began dancing at three years old, but started bellydancing (dancing seriously, anyway) in 1998. Since then I have performed in many different venues from restaurants to theater stages in four states. I currently run the Pangaea Dance Studio and direct Reflections Dance Co. in Champaign, IL. I concentrate on the Modern Egyptian style, but I enjoy experimenting with Folkloric, American Tribal, and honestly any other style my students beg to work on in our troupe (I am after all a big softy). For more info about me and my dance bio including a full performance and training history see... www.cubellydance.com/Bio_and...bio.html
