Another project

I'm working on a replica of a Cayuga whirlwind mask for an art park in my hometown. I started it years ago, after we had a close call with a tornado, and then got diverted away from it and never returned until I was asked for a contribution to the art park. My stuff tends to be miniature and not of the outside variety. Internal langscapes, so to speak. But I remembered the whirlwind mask and decided to finish it for the project. If anyone has any experiences or knowledge of these masks I would like to hear about it. The picture below is from Joseph Campbell's Way of the Seeded Earth.
Oh, my understanding of the mask is that it was hung on a tree, on the side of approaching storms, or actually hurled at an approaching storm, to divert the storm.
