The Happenings.......

Embedded with a Retro 70's Air Calvary Unit In Iraq

As you probably have noticed, I don't Blog as much as I used too. I find Blogging sometimes takes a form of self promoting that I don't really like. To me the Tribe is not really the right place for me to promote myself professionally. I mean really, who out there is going to hire anyone because of any of the exploits they write on their Blog.
Speaking of exploits....
I just recently was asked if I wanted to be an embedded photo journalist in Iraq. It is an experimently unit, a splinter group of the famous Air Calvary Unit (made famous in "Apoclaypse Now"). Without hesitation I said 'Yes'.
I now have found out that the extent of the experiment is that the unit is only allowed 70's vintage uniforms, weapons and gear. Yet they are choppered into some of the most terrifying areas of Iraq. Always using vintage choppers and radio gear.
As you can imagine this elite unit has had some tough times over the last month. I will continue to Blog from the front lines of the battle against Terrorism in Iraq.
Wish me luck!

Oh Holy Crap! Major rays of protection over you & your unit...

Wondering if you are able to accept supplements to your gear.. like anti-ammo vests & stuff.

Looking forward to hearing of your adventures, as always.
much love,
