which I heartily recommend to all parties as a really fun way to learn something new in a slightly irreverent setting!
the relevant details are to be found on the website above...
What I am presenting in the afternoon session is a Playshop called
Spiritual Applications of The Erotic Arts of Power Exchange (yes I realize that is a bit lengthy but oh well)
Here is an outline of the curriculum:
I – Brief overview of The Erotic Arts of Power Exchange:
II- Context of Spirituality –
III- Recognizing the Divinity in Others -
IV- Mastery and Service as Spiritual Practice
V- Power Exchange in a Spiritual Context
VI –Bondage as a tool for Meditation
VII- S&M as Energy Work
VIII- Role Play as Drama Therapy (this is a flexible module which may be dropped if we run short on time)
Anyone who is interested may sign up at the website shown above.

There are clear links to be seen between the spiritual and the erotic arts.
Not all spiritual arts are erotic and not all erotic arts are "spiritual" Even those terms themselves: Spiritual ~ Erotic are open to debate when it comes to their meaning, context and emotional charge for people.
However - if you look at Spirituality as a combination of A connection to the Devine blended with Personal Growth and an ability to behave with compassion towards things outside one's own ego, then the myriad of ways in which it may be found within The Erotic Arts are many.
In my own personal life, as well as in my observations of others I have discovered, researched, stumbled upon, and exulted many of these sorts of connections. Some are huge and poignant and have big impact,,,others are minor and soon forgotten in the wake of bigger waves.
In my culture I have seen enormous DISconnect between the Spiritual and Erotic Arts...so much so that there are forces arrayed AGAINST their uniting in any fashion.
Thus it is in part my dharma to attempt to illuminate and illustrate the interweaving of these Arts.
This playshop is a manifestation and expression of that dharma.
If you do attend the playshop and we have not met, please do introduce yourself...
~Namaste~

My hat's off to you Capt for acknowledging this disconnect in our community and for choosing to use your gifts for the common good, to create a bridge for people to cross. My experience has been that most fundamentally ache to cross that chasm and are only lost. Power and responsibility are irrevocably entwined, and you Sir consistently see and embrace that obligation as a Blessing. Enjoy! - G.B. |
