Chakrabasics...
Wed, July 19, 2006 - 11:59 AMThe chakra system is first traced to the Aryan tribes who invaded India in the 2nd millennium BC. The ancient peoples, without the aid of MRI’s and elaborate techonology had Mapped the Energy Systems of the body.
All the wires – the circulatory system the lymphatic system the nervous system
Have nodes on their networks where they come together… groups of wires together form fields of energy… The chakra’s are these nodes.
The system of working with and
The chakra system has many functions and uses as a modality for healing and spiritual growth…Todays focus however is upon the use of Visualization of the Energy Centers
for accessing energy in all parts of your body…
The body has 7 main energy centers that stack along the spine from the base to the top of the skull… The 7 energy centers reflect various aspects of the human condition…areas of life as it were that are metaphorically made manifest in the part of the body where the energy center is located…
They are both the body and the spirit
The machine and the tool
One aspect which illustrates the Chakra System very well is it’s correspondence with the 7 refracted wavelengths of white light when seen after passing through a prisim.
Beginning with red at the base of the spine and traveling up the rainbow through the green of the heart center, ending at the violet crown, the energy of a human being flows like the xylem and phloem of a tree…In one direction sending earthly energies to the sky and in the other drawing down the energy of the heavens into the earthly plane…
To use the chakras in a basic manner it is possible to use the power of one’s mind’s eye .To work with any given energy center, one merely needs see that center in it’s correspondent color shown in any form of vortex, or passage of energy. Some examples of this are a whirlpool, a flower, a star, a mandala or a ball or wheel of light.

a fine reminder of the innate mysteries
Excellent post and a fine reminder of the innate mysteries swirling within our bodies. You probably know how each chakra also expresses specific hormone-secreting glands that contribute to the overall biochemistry when activated. The exception would be with the 8th chakra located above the head itself, anywhere between six inches and six feet (probably depending on each person), that relates to nonlocal, or out of body, experiences such as we experience in dreams and also in broad daylight. Have you experienced this eighth chakra or heard of its existence ?

I had not heard that about a new chakra but it sounds interesting to me...
I like the idea of a new chakra that bridges the gap between emotion and communication that's for sure =) |

the eighth chakra
I don't think the 8th chakra is so new; some reseacrh into Hinduism will probably bring it up. I experienced it "accidentally" during a rather sudden and overwhleming outside shock to my system many years ago, a shock that seemed to have the effect of catapulting my consciousness up and out of my body where it anchored inside this energy center about a foot above my head. It was as if I had become conscious for the first time in my life. The next two years were spent gradually coming down into my body, reclaiming each chakra as I went. I ended up writing a book on this process which helped quite a bit.

8th chakra - yeah, I've seen that one too, about a foot above the head. My personal interpretation is that it's a filter or connection point between body and Spirit.
Star_Fish: I've read about that place, the low throat/top of chest area, but not as a chakra. I read it explained as the 5th element of the body - pure Spirit (the other 4 are of "matter": fire/water/air/earth) It's also referred to as the thymus gland energy center or 'Christ energy' in the body. It's said to be capable of doing a vibrational recalibration of our cellular structure and DNA - so very helpful to activate for deep healing purposes! |

PS.. There is also a "grid" of smaller chakras throughout the body - accupressure and accupuncture activate these energy centers for healing purposes. People who heal through "touch" or "laying on of heands" are using the chakras on the palms of the hands to move energy through the body. Chiropractors move bones that pinch nerves and interfere with the movement of energy in the body along the spine.
Thanks for bringing this up because the energy centers of the body are one thing that both scientific and alternative medicine agree on, and if more people realize this they'll have a better opportunity to care for their own health. |
